[TPU] PC Power & Cooling Introduces the Silencer 910 PSU - Page 3

I found an image of the inside: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/pr...k_PPCS910.html. It is not a M12D like we all assumed. It seems to be based on a tweaked Seasonic x900 which is the same thing they used in the 750W Silencer. To be honest I am disappointed. But you have to wonder how they managed 80plus Silver out of an x900 variant.

Same here. 200 dollars for that much power from PC Power, though, is like......

I don't see myself owning a PC Power and Cooling PSU for those very reasons. After you commit to buying from a reputable company, I don't see anyone loosing OCing headroom because they went with modular vs. non-modular. I don't know why companies take stances like this. The first thing I look for is a 120 or 135mm fan when I hunt for a PSU. I specifically looked then passed on all the PC&C units for those silly little 80mm fans.

For each their own I suppose.

Exactly, but the CP-850 is too bulky.

For the currently PSU's with a 80mm fan design, PSU makers could easily shift the 80mm fan to push instead of pull which is a much more efficient cooling method and instead of one fan pulling they can have two 80mm fans pushing because the power switch wouldn't be in the way anymore.

However, any change in design will drive up costs so I guess PSU makers are sticking to what works.

Well, most FSP-based platforms aren't renowned for their silence, so hey.

But I'd much, much rather have the original Seasonic M12D than this PCP&C.

I bought the 910W and I am very happy , just a modification to swap the fan with a Sleeve bearing PWM AKASA 90mm slow spinning fan , inaudible , I swap the airflow direction of the fan from exhaust to intake ,it is a stupidity to use the PSU as exhaust of all the heat produced/developed from all the other components of the computer , of course I need to modify my CM590 case , I will show later fotos but basically my case looks like the photo shown below

Erm, that's just blowing hot air from the PSU into the case...

Still, good design, I wonder if it will actually work.
(Also, why does your Sig Rig say No modular PSU please? Do you believe PCP&C's crap about them? cause that is false... or at least negligible)

Why do you people insist in bumping 5 month old NEWS threads. Use a little common sense please. Hell make your own new thread to show off your PSU mod.
