They seem like they're neck to neck. The 7950 has the advantage of being better at 2560 x 1440 (or higher) because of the wider memory bus. The 660ti is crippled when it comes to the memory bus. The 7950 and 7800 cards are also getting a price cut. The 7950 should cost just as much as the 660ti or only a little bit more. From what I've heard, it overclocks better too and is runs cooler when using aftermarket coolers.

I feel that the 7950 should be above the 660ti it does better in more scenarios especially when both are at max OC

Chart Update

Full Update Notes: GTX660 Ti, HD7970 GHz Edition, and HD7950 with Boost added to the chart. A new row with Transistor count of each GPU has been added. Separate row added for the Boost Clock. There are now four distinct areas to the chart which are the GPU Core Info, Main Specifications, Power/Size Requirements, and Relative FPS. Due to adding three cards to the list it became wider so I tried to shave off width space where I could. This also resulted in some slight row name changes. Row color changed slightly from a light blue to a light blue/green color. Relative FPS area has been left with the light blue row color and a added darker blue strip with the card model has been added for easier comparisons and more distinction between the specs area and relative FPS. The HD7970GE is now the baseline for the relative FPS since it is now the fastest single GPU card (above the GTX680 slightly at higher resolutions).

Resources Links for Chart (Relative FPS):
MSI GTX660 Ti Power Edition Review: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_660_Ti_Power_Edition/
HD7950 Boost Review: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/HD_7950_Boost_BIOS_Upgrade/

Suggested Ranking Additions and Changes:
I agree with derpy_hooves, the regular HD7950 should be placed above the GTX660 Ti. At low resolutions they are about the same on average but at 2560x1440 and above the HD7950 pulls away.

HD7970 GHz Edition: Placement should be above the HD6990 with a rank of 4th. According to TechPowerUp, it's faster than the HD6990 at 1920x1200 and 2560x1600 on average: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_660_Ti_Power_Edition/28.html

HD7950 with Boost: Placement should be right above the regular HD7950. With the GTX660 Ti order changed it would have a rank of 15th and this would give the regular HD7950 a rank of 16th: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/HD_7950_Boost_BIOS_Upgrade/25.html

GTX660 Ti: Rank should be changed to 17th due to the HD7950s having better performance at higher resolutions: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_660_Ti_Power_Edition/28.html

Edit: I found a couple errors in the chart. Image in this post has been updated with the corrections.

Was that "Awesome thumb.gif" directed at my chart or Anth0789's work. Anth0789 has done a lot of great work in this thread but if it was for my chart thank you very much, I'm glad you like it.thumb.gif With this revision I tried a lot of different things that didn't seem to work and I finally came up with that design which I was very happy with.

Was directed at your recent update, nice to see this thread still getting worked on. I also appreciate the work the op has done. Didnt want anyone to think the effort was unappreciated biggrin.gif

Thank you so much for your support. It's nice when your work is appreciated.biggrin.gif I wasn't implying you were neglecting Anth0789 but I can't take praise without shooting some back at him for all his work on this thread. I am just a small piece to the puzzle.

Your welcome, I'm glad it makes your decision easier. I have two main motivations for making the chart. The first is for my own knowledge and interest in computer hardware. The second is to be a help to you guys and give you a single location of comparison for all current gen graphics cards.

The GTX680 and HD7970 GHz Edition are pretty evenly matched at low to medium resolutions (1680x1050 and 1920x1200). Which card is ahead will of course depend on the specific game tested but TechPowerUp uses a vast game library of 18 and 2 synthetic benchmarks. So you get a good variety to have an accurate average. It's at high resolutions like 2560x1600 and 2560x1440 and extreme resolutions in multi-monitor Eyefinity setups when AMD's cards with their immense memory bandwidth and frame buffer shines and pull away. This is the case for the HD7970GE vs GTX680 (288GB/s vs 192.3GB/s), HD7970 vs GTX670 (264GB/s vs 192.3GB/s), HD7950 vs GTX660 Ti (240GB/s vs 144.2GB/s), and HD7750 vs GT640 (72GB/s vs 28.5GB/s). In the case of the GT640 the card has a larger frame buffer but is crippled by the use of DDR3 memory, even at lower resolutions it just get's blown away by the HD7750 (Nvidia cheaped out on the memory and it shows, that is supposed to be remedied by the not yet released GTX650 Ti). One thing my chart doesn't show is the minimum frame rates but maybe that will be a future addition.biggrin.gif
