Has anyone else using Win7 tried running D2 at 800x600 on a widescreen? For some reason, when I run the game at 640x480, the game spans across the entire screen like any other full screen game. But at 800x600, it is a fixed window in the middle of the screen, leaving a wide black border on the left and right sides, which makes everything look narrow on my monitor. I tried to take a screenshot, but it doesn't show the rest of the screen like I described.

I think it's the same problem I had, and if it is, I know how to fix it. Basically, you go in the NVIDIA Control Panel (right-click on desktop if you don't know where it is), and then click on "Change flat panel scaling". Then just click on "Use NVIDIA scaling" and then "Apply". That's it, it fixed the black bars for me, so it should work for you too.
