Hi,
I have a Boreas set up. I just bought a Enzotech Sappire rev.A and a mcp 350 pump with a XSPC-RES-LAING top to change out the stock pump and cpu waterblock.
The pump came with a 2 wire 4 prong connector and another blue seperate wire hooked up to a three prong connector.

I changed over the 2 wire 4 prong to a 2 wire 3 prong by using a adapter and pluged it in to the coolit controller, so the pump is powered by the controller.
The pump comes on but the pump in the controller window is red not green.

Am I supposed to make use of that added blue wire coming from the mcp 350 pump some how? I thought that blue wire was a tach wire or not?

And I love my boreas.

Steve

Oh hey you really want to get a coolant that has a corrosion inhibitor in it because you are going to be mixing copper and aluminum, as for wires usually red/yellow is +, black is ground or -, and blue is tac.

Thanks for the color diagram but, how do I get the pump recognized in the control module?

It doesn't, as it won't work I'm afraid. Tried the very same thing, but without success.
Best way is to just connect it to the psu with the 4pin molex.

I was afraid of that, but thanks anyway.
I've had this Boreas almost 2 yrs now, give or take and it's been a good work horse.
Reading this forum was the reason I decided to give it a try. The new pump and cpu cooler makes the system even better. The only problem with the sapphire is the mounting ring for the base prevents you from taking out the cpu for whatever reason.
You have to dimantle the whole bracket assembly to do that. Is it like that with the HK3.0?
Also what are you using for liquid? Is prestone low tox enough for the corrosion?

Thanks

Well, I haven't repalced my cpu since I got the HK and it has been quite a while since I installed it. Can't quite remember how I installed this baby, LOL. When uninstalling the thing I think I have to take out the complete board, also when replacing just the cpu. I don't mind that, but I know some people do.
Then again, I don't replace my cpu every week, so who cares if it takes some more time to replace a cpu

I'm using Feser One fluid. Haven't seen any corrosion sofar.

I have changed the waterblock on mine for an Enzotech Luna Rev. A and I will shortly add a 2nd FZE too, as soon as I receive the tubing.

I'm sure many people have a CoolIT TEC but don't really talk about it because these units are sometimes frowned upon by WC or TEC experts.

I,ve had this Freezone Quad (pic below) for quite a long time.I was going to try sli with it when 8800gtx cards were out but lack of cash and other things took precedent so it sat in it's box for a year, I took it out to ooggly at it now and again.
So recently I came into some spending fiat and thought I'd try to build something.
I've got an Elite unit coming this week, I think I'll leave the Elite standard and just fit onto a 920 I had sat in it's box since Feb 09.still
Although I'm open to your thoughts if fitting a Swiftech GTZ or a nice Enzotech Saphire block I've got onto the Elite will improve it's cooling on the 920 (C0 stepping).
I've got a nice buyer return Armoursuite P80 to put these into,I've taken it apart to do someting not quite sure what.(pic below)still
I'm still not sure what I want to do with the Freezone Quad.I've got a XFX 4870 so I was toying with taking the 4 cooling blocks off the Quad and replacing with a full 4870 XSPC acrylic waterblock with some 3/8 id 5/8 od tubing.I alos want to replace the standard 90cm fan that was on the Quad unit with one with more CFM power.I bought an Xilence that is 38mm thick and rated 90 CFM at 18dba 1400rpm.(don't know the amps). But from trying it I don't think it's putting out 90cfm!
I also took an ADDA 120mm from an Asetek Xternal watercooler (There nice watercoolers.I like them). It's rated at 0.34amps.Don't know the rpm or CFM but when I put my hand in front it feels like it's putting out more air than the 90cfm Xilence!(Pics of both below).
That's it for now just a short dscrip of my plans.(I'm a very slow typist and it usually takes me a few hours to put a large post with pics up)
