The cable I need to find out about is the one in the picture on my previous post that is on top of the MTEC control box.The cable is hanging over the side a little bit.
I know it's nearly impossible to get a good idea from 1 picture but maybe someone had the same question as mine and found an answer?
I like your case photo by the way very nice a Boras way to go.Did you have an Elite and move up to the Boras or just go straight to the Boras?
By the way did the *addons* in your last photo come with the Boras?? If yes I'm buying one right now lol !!
ps I just got an Elite today I'm impressed with it's build, looks a little smaller than the original Freezone units,
I'm looking forward to seeing it performance on a 920 first stepping cpu I have sitting in a box for the past 8 months.
for now..

When I first bought my I7 965 in November I had ordered the Elite. I had tried it however with the testing they did at coolit they didn't push the lilits of the I7. I think it was tested at stock. because when I took mine to 4.2GHZ I was getting better temps with the factory I7 Exterme edition cooler.
They thought it was a bad TEC so they sent me another one and it was the same. It was at that point I opted for the Boreus. and since the case I had would not hold this beast I went with the MTEC Chassis from silverstone. Been very happy with the performance of this unit.

I talked it over with matt at coolit If you order a Boreus in the next 10 minutes (cuz we can't do this all day you know!) I will provide you with the BONUS desktop background

Hi Gentlemen. I want to water cool my Rig, and as you probably guessed, I would like to use products from Coolit.
At this point in my research, i feel i have read and learned just enough to be a danger to myself and my system! Just kidding I think?
I welcome any and all advise.....even from the naysayers that are around.
So...enough of my drivel.
I, like others have many questions...some stupid but I will ask anyways in no particular order.

What kind of temps Can I expect in a single closed loop, cooling 2 280gtx and my CPU with a Boreas?

I have a un modded TJ 07...

Will a 3 core rad help?

Should I look at running a FZE in series with a Boreas instead of Rads?

In the end I want to keep this as simple and low maintenance as possible.

I am on Socket 775 now...upgrading to a Q9650 soon.

I would like to have some headroom for the future.

Fan Sound not a huge issue....I always use headphones when gaming.

System should cool close to ambient when testing....whatever temps i get from there will be fine.

I have a water blocks picked out.....all from HK on CPU and GPU's.

Thanks for your time.....

Gord

i'd run 3 or 4 boreas units if you want the really awesome temps, 2 should do well enough to be on par with standard watercooling, though the latter will be cheaper.

Coolit's chillers are pretty nice but as heatload increases linearly, the chillers lose effectiveness exponentially.

Thanks for the input Chielscape. What would you recommend?

i'd stock up on boreas units, because screw budgets

HehChiel...what color paint gets the best temps?

you can order them in different colors...?

matte black would radiate the most heat, but the difference would be immeasurable.

When I first bought my I7 965 in November I had ordered the Elite. I had asked if it would work with the 965 and they said they tested it. however with the testing they did at coolit I don't think they OC'd it at all, I think it was tested at stock. because when I took mine to 4.2GHZ I was getting better temps with the factory I7 Exterme edition cooler. (FZE temps 98*c stock cooler temps 88-94*c) They thought it was a bad TEC so they sent me another one and it was the same. It was at that point I opted for the Boreus. and since the case I had would not hold this beast I went with the MTEC Chassis from silverstone. Been very happy with the performance of this unit.

and for OC temps on the boreus check out my post above for a screen shot of my temps
