Starting to think maybe the TIM just isn't really that great (OCZ Freeze).

I definitely do NOT want to get a bigger case to solve my temp problems.
OCZ Freeze is one of the top TIMs out there. See if you have enough mounting pressure (try turning the knob in the bracket too)
this thing:

The cooler itself could be defective, maybe a heatpipe is leaking.
A bigger case really won't do anything to temperatures, the 341 itself has exceptional cooling.

The center screw only changes the spring pressure for the clamping effect on the two arms. Turning it won't change the amount of mounting pressure itself.

Really? I was under the impression that it did from this review:
http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...-review-6.html
Quote:
Unfortunately, with only one center pressure point the cooler can spin around this central axis. We prefer a two pin setup to this style since it does not provide an even enough pressure over the entire surface of the CPU. Rather, it radiates out from the center with the four corners having (theoretically) less pressure than the center. On the positive side this central pin is adjustable for depth so you can leave it loose to easily set the four corners and then tighten it down.

Neither of the ones I have do. You can turn the screw until you are blue in the face and it won't change the amount of pressure one bit. The screw is only threaded at the top where the knurled nut is, not at the bottom and will spin if you tighten it too much. There is no way it can increase the pressure of the mount. That's not the first time I've found errors in that sites reviews.

Nice temps, n nice oc! On air to

hey what r ur temps? And oced or stock clocks?

no a bigger case wont help with temps really, the 341 has a heap of airflow.
friend went from a lian li k62, with 2 x 140mm and 3 or 4 x 120mm fans.
To his ( now my ) 341, with just 2 120mm fans and temps were the same.. If not little lower lol

Anyways, nar bigger case wont help, unless u want to jam a 480/360 rad in their lol

I'm running stock 2.56ghz right now, 32c idle and sometimes upwards to 50c during load.

A while back when I was using AS5 I was getting around 20c idle and around 35 load. This OCZ Freeze doesn't seem to spread well, however I did also get some crappy temps with one of the last reseatings I had with AS5. But still I had those really low temps in my 341.

Also I'm going to start using the Hyper212+ thread for help xD shouldn't have started this here, just saw another 341 user with a hyper.

Is the heatsink on the card clean?

Is the fan on the vid card spinning like it should?

Are there any other cards or other items that would block the gpu fan/heatsink from getting cool air?

Do you have a front case fan blowing in?

What is the ambient room temp?

Are you overclocking the card?

Being from the Philippines probably isn't helping. From what I can tell if was about 90F today, which is about 15 to 20F hotter than what an average room temp is when reviewers post temps. Most reviewers take their temp readings in a 70F room (give or take a couple of degrees). If you don't have A/C and it was that hot then your GPU temps aren't that bad. But I would try cleaning the heatsink and possibly re-applying the TIM to see if that helps at all.

You could also try running with the side panel off to see if the gpu temps go down. If you have access to a small desk/box fan try place that so it is blowing into the case from the side and see how that affects the temps.
