Been a while since I posted in here... lol

So, I have officially stopped using my Elite 335. Sad, I know... But! I am going to keep it around, and start modding it. I have no worthwhile hardware to put in it at the moment, so it will just be an empty case for a while. And, I won't be starting the mods for another couple of months, at least. Due to moving and other obligations. However, I'm not giving up on the old girl yet!

I'll update when I start the mods. It will be my first full fledged modding project, so I'm sure I'll have questions galore.

I don't have a H- series cooler, but the rear panel fan slot fits 120mm size fan so I guess you won't have to cut extra hole for the radiator?

Thank you! biggrin.gif
It's my bad for wrong question sir. I mean the rear fan screw holes, do i need to create another holes. I suspect that the radiator won't fit directly.
Anyway I found one example here.. I hope he will answer my question.

Clean cable management sir! thumb.gif
Anyway have you mod the rear 120mm fan slot to fit the radiator directly?

Hey guys, saw this topic and thought you might be the people to ask, I am looking at upgrading my GPU to a 580 gtx (MSI TwinFrozr II), I am currently using a CM Elite 335 and just wanting to make sure that it will fit in the case ok. I'm using a old 8800gtx atm and that fits in fine, but I have had conflicting responses to whether it will go in or not.

Well, I figure this is the best place to ask this - I have a Cooler Master Elite 330 case, and am wondering if anyone in here has run into a situation with the lower case not cooling the video card properly? I'll add onto the question - not cooling the video card except when the lower front fan is blowing out.

I've built many computers, but I have never (EVER) in my whole life seen (let alone built) any computer with a case fan exhausting out the front before (I have built many computer's)... Trust me, I have played with this alot since I built the computer a month ago, if I have that fan blowing in as normal, my video card temps jump 10 degree's at idle and 15 degree's during gaming. Temps are worse if I don't have the lower fans.

I'll give the quick run down of my cooling setup - entire cooling system consists of an Antec Kuhler h2o 620 with the rad eating up my unused 5 1/2" bays (single fan behind it pulling air through the rad and into the case), the rear fan (Noctua 120mm) and PSU fans are exhausting out the rear of the case. I have a small fan I scavenged off the AMD heat sink blowing air through the NB (I know, it's a ghetto setup with a zip tie holding to the heat sink wink.gif). And I have a fan sitting in the lower side VGA vent (original Cooler Master 120mm case fan) which I added it to try and drop the video card temps - that didn't work with it blowing in or out of the case. Well the side fan I can't say that it doesn't make a difference, it does help slightly blowing in but that's only with the lower front case fan blowing out - no difference what-so-ever if the front case fan is blowing in. Oh, and of course there's the fan that goes against the norm, the lower front 120mm Noctua fan blowing out the front. Only thing remote to a case mod is that I had removed the funnel and sealed it's vent to improve upper case flow when I changed over to the water block (I experimented, and the CPU and upper case cooled much better with the funnel removed and it's vent sealed - that doesn't matter if the rad is in the back or the front).

I'm asking because this is just isn't jiving with me. I've attached photo's of the system so everyone can see that I haven't done anything odd with the hardware layout (except that lower fan - yes, it's bothering me that much because it's abnormal):

No worries. biggrin.gif

I should spend a bit of time on cable management in my case as well: that rat's nest immediatly behind the hard drive can go, the uglyness of the strapped power cable in front of the mobo can go, the 8 pin motherboard connector really can be much better hidden away.... That leaves the 6 pin connector for the video card, and I'm not sure if I can find it a hidden route - but I'm sure I can come up with somthing that puts it out of the way. LOL wink.gif
