Where to dispose a CRT monitor?

Thread Starter
I am looking for a place or how to properly dispose the inner hardware of my 15"(?) CRT monitor. Once I get rid of the insides, the CRT's case and Plexiglas will make my new fish tank.

My local community college has a few recycling days a year and so does the GM powertrain plant near me. Check your local resources - thats what I did. (Prolly notable in the newspaper).

Do not put this on the side of the road.

The site eclipseaudio4 posted is located in Philadelphia, only a good half an hour drive from my house. Since it's a cooperation in my area, I would have a higher chance of finding help to dispose my CRT than to look for local colleges and such.

Thanks for the tips and information everyone!

Be careful with the caps on that thing! They can store electricity for ages, and will throw you across the room if you discharge it...

Doesn't Best Buy accept electronics for recycling?
