Pentium Dual-Core E6300 (2.8G, 1066)!!

Thread Starter
Just bought this very new cpu to replace my forever-slow C2D E6320!! However, I can't find any info of it at all, not even on Intel website... Wish I can find out the max volt/temp before rushing into anything...

me: "Where's the data sheet?"

Well, it is 45nm so Intel will say 1.3625v is the max. I say 1.4 and under is fine. As far as temps go, just keep it under 70C. Have fun with the new chip! Make sure your board supports 45nm CPUs (may need a BIOS flash).

EDIT - your board supports a wide range of 45nm CPUs, so you should just flash to the latest BIOS to make sure you are all set. Have fun!

thanks man,

I was actually worrying that my mb may not support this cpu, but then what-the-heck, as long as it won't burn my board

Just flash it, and everything will be fine. Can't wait to see how these OC. You should nab a P35 board and give that thing pure hell.

i got it from HK....

already been using the latest bios since 200808

The default core voltage is 1.275V, would like to find the fsb voltage also. With default core voltage & fsb voltage +0.15V, i hit the wall at 333Mhz * 10.5... Temp is ok at 60C full load! Crazy enough to go straight to 10.5*436MHz, and of course the GA mb keep rebooting itself. Too lazy to clear cmos, until after the 16th reboot

yoyoyo, u should tell me, looks like u're doing better

I'm testing @400x9.5, 1.344v, 60C.
I know my board vdrop about 0.04v, I got BSOD when voltage set 1.3875v in bios, and now I'm trying 1.39325V in bios, seems ok. However, both voltages show 1.344v in cpu-z

I'm wondering how much more voltage i can add for fsb!!

That's called vdroop, it's normal that you get a lower voltage in when reading it out in the OS.

By the way, my good 'ol E6300 does 2.8Ghz at 1.18v, 3.72Ghz at 1.5v. That's the old 65nm part though. Max voltage for the 45nm should be somewhere around 1.4v.
