OCN 3DMark Challenge - Benchmarking Contest

Contest Dates:

Start Date is June 1st, 2009 - End Date is August 1st, 2009



RULES:

  1. You may enter only one class. So choose carefully.
  2. Each class has it's own specific rules which must be followed.
  3. All entries must be submitted through HWBot.org for the OCN team and be valid.
  4. Any entry submitted before the start date of or after the end date of the contest will not be considered a valid entry (any attempt to circumvent this rule by deleting and resubmitting an entry during the contest will result in disqualification and removal from this and possible future contests).
  5. The contest will use the following programs:
    1. 3DMark03
    2. 3DMark05
    3. 3DMark06
    4. 3DMark Vantage (No PhysX)
  6. PhysX MUST be disabled for an entry to be valid.
  7. All hardware must be the same for all four benchmarks (speeds can differ).
  8. Placement will be determined by the highest total score of all four programs.
  9. There is no registration per say, however your entry into a specific class will be determined by your first entry into the competition on or after the competition start date.

CLASSES:

Xtreme Class

ES chips allowed
No cooling restrictions
No GPU restrictions

Intel Class

Intel Retail chips only (No Unreleased or ES chips)
Air or Water cooling only
No GPU restrictions

AMD Class

AMD Retail chips only (No Unreleased or ES chips)
Air or Water cooling only
No GPU restrictions

Mixed Class

Retail chips only (No Unreleased or ES chips)
Air or Water cooling only
1 GPU Maximum

Prizes:

Xtreme Class

1st - $50
2nd - $30
3rd - $20

Intel Class

1st - $30
2nd - $20
3rd - $15

AMD Class

1st - $30
2nd - $20
3rd - $15

Mixed Class

1st - $25
2nd - $15
3rd - $10

Grand Prize Drawing
OCN Flame Engraved Duniek LN2/Dice Pot

The Grand Prize will consist of a random drawing between all 1st place winners from all four classes. The prize will be shipped directly from Duniek to you.

Does cpu speed have to be the same for all runs?

I can run 03/05 at 4.2, 06/Vantage no.

While this seems great I can't be really bothered trying. I've got a single 9600 gt that won't get me anywhere far.

EDIT: Can I submit the results that I got like 2 weeks ago after the contest starts? I don't want to bench again to get the exact same results.

EDIT2: Does a card such as a 4870x2 or 9800gx2 count as single gpu?

While I wish we could separate into more classes we have a budget to go by and the only way to stay within budget is to limit the number of classes. If this one really does well we may can break them into smaller classes next time.

As long as HWBot.org accepts them as valid then there should not be an issue. They do accept screenshots for 3DMark runs correct?
