Apparently there's a new BIOS out, 81BFP109.
http://www.foxconnsupport.com/downlo...rds=&sort=BIOS

Looks like it fixes a CnQ issue w/ the Sempron 140...anyone know about any other changes, and whether it includes the fixes in the beta BIOS?

Hey guys,

hate to have to revive the good ol' A7DA-S complaints, BUT..

My A7DA-S 3.0 won't let me adjust my RAM correctly to 1333mhz (667mhz in BIOS). When I do set it to run at 667, it automatically downclocks to 400mhz. So mad about that..

And not to mention, I too have the 40C constant CPU reading in BIOS and I can't adjust my CPU multi in there either.

I've tried all the different kinds of BIOS updates I can find out there on the internet, including some peoples' "beta" bioses, but no luck. Especially with my RAM, which is my primary focus at this time. I'll stick to AMD Overdrive for a simple multiplier OC =P

Thanks guys! And I'm not bashing the board, I have owned it since 04/2009 and I love it!

hi all,

just bought an a7da-s 3.0 (old mb died, gave up on waiting for 8 series chipsets). paired it with 2x2gig ocz platinum 1333mhz and a sempron 140 (ran outta money lol). i was going to go for the gigabyte 790gx board, but noticed this one that seemed to be of similar spec/quality and about £20 cheaper.
couple of issues:
1. tried unlocking the sempron (as you do) by setting ACC to auto, disabling CnQ, and raising cpu voltage to 1.4v. however, both the board and windows still recognise it as a single core sempron. not seen any other posts with that description (just about all fails seem to show it as dual core, but not boot etc). scratching my head over that one...

2. trying to overclock aforementioned sempron. so far im on 3.35ghz stock voltage (reset any unlocking options for now), idle temp 24C, load ~30C (seems a bit low to me, heard about issues regarding temp probes, but cooler remains cool to touch...). the ref clock is at 245mhz, and the northbridge is at 2450mhz. anything higher than that, artifacts start to appear on screen. Ive gone as far as +120mv on the northbridge, but it makes no difference.

My problem is when i try to select the northbridge multiplier in the BIOS, the whole screen goes red. it goes away if i press enter, but i cant acess the submenu. there isnt an option for northbridge multiplier adjust in AOD (but there is for HT which works fine). anyone had similar problems

i am using 8C2F1P05 BIOS, and i have tried both 8C2F1P04 and 8C2F1P03 revisions. These dont change anything except for the board detects the sempron as "AMD model unknown" (although CPUZ detects it correctly). it still functions as normal though

any suggestions?

been back and forth with foxconn tech support. despite the rumors about them being rubbish, i think they're actually quick to reply. havnt solved those two issues yet, but they gave me a P06 bios which, although it aint listed on their website or liveupdate, is dated july 09.

just thought id share it here. not really sure what it does apart from "fully support sempron 140", but if you're like me, a newer version is always a better version...

just to re-iterate, this is only for the am3 a7da-s 3.0

At first their support was going well, responded to my comment in a single day's time and that's pretty good to my standards.

BUT, it's now been over a week since then and nothing yet. And in the first initial reply, they tried telling me that I'm best to run my ram @ 1066mhz @ 1.9v instead of the factory spec'd 1333mhz @ 1.7v. I mean, are you freaking SERIOUS? 0.2v extra for 267mhz speed loss.. I don't freakin think so.

They didn't even comment on my CPU multiplier changing leading to faulty 800mhz per core (CnQ is disabled, no need to ask =P)

Foxconn is really beginning to lose its' stand in my computer here - I'm temping to go get a Gigabyte or MSI board soon if they can't help me with my memory problem. -_-

actually, i also have that memory problem. havnt mentioned it here, cause i upgraded from 1.5gb ddr400, and with my current overclock they're running ~655mhz anyways ... all in all not the worlds worst problem for me

Ah =P yeah that isn't too noticeable of a difference right there.

I came from running my ram @ 1600mhz oc'd on my old EVGA 790i SLI FTW + Q9650 combo awhile back; but naturally I got rid of the motherboard/cpu =P
