That brand is really getting annoying. You will probably be looking for a biostar or asrock board next time. 890gx ecs has issues as well.

^ yeah youre right. its really annoying. this boards components are rock solid but the dissapointing thing is BIOS/software support is crap. its like having a noob student driver handling a Ferrari car on a racing circuit =D

I think there is a windows flash program, anyway I didn't got to use it. If you are familiar with DOS, just download any ms-dos compatible software and make a boot drive.

Not sure how many of you out there are still using the A7DA-S v1.0 (Socket AM2+), but I'm still using mine! Recently got a Corsair Force 3 120GB SSD for it, after upgrading to the v1.3 firmware it stopped working in AHCI mode - it would just hang after being detected. Fixed it by modding the 81BF1P12 BIOS and integrating the latest AMD AHCI option ROM, I've attached the BIOS to this post in case anyone is having the same issue.

Cheers

The old am2+ version was better, at least you could overclock with that one. Man, foxconn needs someone like you working in the OEM support team.

I have the AM3 version, and with the 05 bios, AHCI works. Temp is wrong, as is setting the ram timings with the 05.

I did a bios flash to the 07, and the AHCI would not work ( at least part of it ) , the drives no longer appeared in the add/remove in the tray area, so hot swapping was gone. Flashed back to 05, and hot swapping was back.

I like the board for the 45.00 I paid for it and with what I use it for as a HTPC
4GB of ram and no overclocking with a X2 240. It's very stable.

I would say Foxconn has no intention of fixing the bios at this point.

Anyone know what quality of components Foxconn uses in the VRM area? I know it's a 4 phase.

EDIT, actually it may be a 5 phase design. One review of the AM2+ version said it was a 5 phase...
