Run MMtool and open the BIOS ROM, look for the module which has a device/manufacturer ID of 1002:4391 - select this module, click "replace" and open the sb800.bin file from the AHCI ROM download. Save the rom, then flash. Simples smile.gif

I went to the site you listed to get the AHCI ROM and it is password protected. I have the P12 bios and my WD Black Caviar drives seem to work (they seem slow to me) when I set the P12 bios to AHCI. What will modding it with the latest AHCI ROM do?

Thanks,

Rick

A few weeks ago i was emailed them and they told me that they are already preparing an AM3+ supporting BIOS and testing it recently. Is there anybody using that BIOS or anyone heard about? That would be great.
Hey all, bumping this because i'm still using a 1.0 am2/am2+ board, wondering if anyone has that P12 beta bios or can throw up a link to it? I'm looking to move up to a PII x6 =)
I too, am curious,

as for clocking goes, my A7da-s AM2+ isn't opening the clock multipliers for cpu higher than x16.
I have a phenom 955 and I know it's capable of much more than it's stock clock settings.

I will try to just bump the voltage a bit to see if it's the Vid issue as one said.

I have bios p09 as p10+ aren't listed as officials.

I got the bus clock set at 210mHz easily. I tightened my ddr-2 latencies to 4-4-4-12
patriot viper 1066 but I never been able to make these stable at spec'd clock and timing settings 2.1volt 5-5-5-15.
So I run them as 840 (as per bus clock settings *2)

Although cpu runs cool barely 4degr. over air at stock and these settings. ( 210Mhz *16 give 3.3ghz)

but no multiplier available above 16... that's disapointing me...

Altough this is stable.

even though this board has proper vram/mosfet cooling, the phase on this board are still like 4+1 for the AM3 version. So if ur having trouble keeping a longterm overclock with a Phenom X6 that is why.

I still love this board though, a ton of features for like 50 bucks. Just dont get it wanting to do super overclocks.

Also would be interested in the p09 bios. I dont think Bulldozer support is possible on any 790 chipset unless the socket itself is AM3+ and not AM3.

This is a well built 4 phase board. Nice VRM cooling, solid caps, etc. I have two running as general use PCs in the family. The bios is the weak part, like for the overclockers and unlockers. I still have one new in the box, that I should sell
