I just wanted confirmation that if i were to purchase this card EVGA GTS 250 512MB i would be able to use it as a dedicated physics card.

Yes i know this has been posted on here a couple times and i took the time to read through the threads and everyone was saying yea it works in XP and windows 7 but the thread starters never actually confirmed that.

all im looking for is a first hand experience yes or no, after that delete the thread or whatever.

im looking to add the card to the system in my sig

Yes in Windows 7 you will be able to use an ATI card as your main an nVidia card for PhysX. Windows Vista is the only version that won't allow you to do so.

Any 8000 series and up works. You have to follow instructions carefully, it won't just work out of the blue, if you need a guide you can read my thread.

I meant the GTS 250 lol, sorry for any confusion. In your sig it says 9800gtx+, why don't you just use that?

thats what i was thinking at first, but i figure if i get the 250 i can sell it or give it away if i dont need it anymore. Basically id rather have a half decent card "laying around" just in case i find a "better" use for it *IE HTPC build ive been thinking about*

I guess if you want to then its fine but was I correct about the 9800gtx+? If so then just use that for Physx and save up for a good card.

Dude get a 9600gt. It's still a half-way decent card, and it costs half as much. If you ever want to build a lan box or something and use the extra card, a 9600gt still plays everything on high except Crysis and Gta4 at 1650x1050 or lower reso.
