CM690 Fan Connectors?

Thread Starter
I've ordered a CM690. My motherboard has only one system fan 3 pin thing.

The CM690 comes with 3 case fans. Do they come with a molex cable to power them? Will I be able to use them??

I don't care about controlling the speed. I would like to know if my setup can currently power the fans.

[I have a fan controller coming in 2 weeks, I just want to know if I can use the fans before that]

If I remember correctly, all the fans uses the 3-pin connectors (such as on the motherboard), but all of them comes with the 3-pin to molex adapters. You have nothing to worry about then since the stock fans all have the adapters.

Yep! CM690 is an awesome case. Great choice; you won't be disappointed! There is a CM690 club here (LINK). Make sure you check it out. Lots of good information. If you ever have questions about modding, cable management, etc, there are a lot of members that are willing to help. So yeah, check it out and grab some ideas!

Hi all,

Just want to revive this thread and ask a couple of question on the subject.

I am about to embark on my first build and will be using the Cooler Master CM690 Advanced II case.

My questions are:

1. Are the molex connectors that come with the fans, for powering directly to the PSU?

2. If i want to control the speeds of the fans, do I need to discard the molex connectors and only use the 3 pin connector and connect them to the mobo? (using an ASUS P8P67 PRO)

3. What is the solution if I want to add extra fans but have no more 3 pin connectors available on the board?

Much thanks
