Best stability test program?

Thread Starter
So i've come to realize that some of my trust in certain stability testing programs has been shook especially ones doing it in short time frames.

Intel burn test, 15 iterations doesn't mean its stable for me, so how many iterations are a good stability indicator.

OCCT, 2hrs mixed still gives bad overclocks, 5hrs mixed seems to be solid, what is your experience?

Prime 95, it works for me if I let it go 12hrs, 4hrs yields small problems here and there, what do you aim for?

If there is a program out there that is fast and solid please let me know cause even 5hrs is kind of time consuming. Thanks ahead

The problem is that most of the time, you need to test for 12 hours atleast.

If you plan a new rig, and overclocking, you best have a backup source to connect you to the internet, and atleast 3 days of build, & overclocking time.

Prime95 is still what I trust for a long run. I'll run shorter tests to check temps and immediate stability problems but then its usually a 8hr(ish) prime95 run while sleeping. Sometimes stability tests followed by general usage, gaming, encoding/decoding is necessary.

Yah I guess its back to the test while I sleep method, i'm just at the point of my overclock where i'm fighting for that last 50-100mhz that I might never get.

I have it setup to where if my temp drops(prime 95 error halt) or goes to high speedfan will play a song to wake me up, I really hate this method but it looks like its back to prime 95 for good. Thanks guys

Video encoding with x264. It scales very well with threading (100% on 16 cores), and is possibly the heaviest real world load.
