Folding noob, get me started

I just got my gtx 285, and i am new to this board. I am going to get another gtx 285 for sli at the end of the summer. Should i use the gpu client or cpu?

use both a vmware client (4 instances) of it if you have the i7 920 listed in your signature, and use the gpu2 client off of Stanfords website.

it should net you around 16,000-18,000 PPD depending on how the GTX285 overclocks, as well as your i7 920. with dual gtx285's expect around 25-26,000 ppd or so.

here is a guide for you on the vmware clients. you'll need to run 4vm clients if you have HT enabled for the best results. http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=599272

also, follow this guide that I just posted a few hours ago to set up your affinity / priority if using both vmware + gpu2 clients. http://www.overclock.net/overclock-n...-priority.html

Both doh sorry but like Lyric said run a gpu client with the VMware setup and that will ned you some nice PPD. Just remember to disable SLI and Phisx when folding. And dont forget to download FahMon link below.
