ok everyone so i finally did it!!! A Black Ice Xtreme III Radiator (40mm) does fit into a sniper case with a few minor problems. ill go into detail on my lil adventure
first i didnt have the right tool to take of one of the handles but nothing a dremel cant take care of
now i know i dont have the world steadiest hands but gimme some credit, since my girl was to scared of the sparks flying everywhere lol
as you can see here the rad fit perfect but here is where i bumped into some problems. In this picture you can see that the fan does not clear very well. i really didnt want my all 3 of my fans on the outside of my case doing a pull set up so i got alil inventive. so i could only have two fans doing a push set up, because it wouldnt clear the ram tabs. so for two fans one in the middle and one in the end in my drive bay then i would have to shove my ram sticks to the left and if i put one the left and one the right then i would have to move my ram sticks to the right either way im capped at 8 gigs of ram which is more than enough for me. so i decided to put a fan on both ends doing a push set up and then having one in the middle but on top doing a pull. also heads up if anyone owns asrock gen3 mobo and is doing the same set up as mine be ready because the fan above the cpu with not go in without a fight since the top heatsink is kinda tall, your gonna have to force it down a bit to line it up with the screws
you will also loose a drive bay for the fan
to my fellow sniper owners if you do decided to put a 360 rad into a sniper case i would recommend either 35mm or smaller rad with 120x25 fans or 40mm rad with 120x20 fans to make sure everything fits snugged.
i forgot to take a final pic after putting everything back by the time i was done i had to leave for work. ill post them later. i did get to run a quick bench test and my temps where 20c cooler than my h100 at load at 5ghz!!
final words- if anyone out there buys the monsoon compress bewared tho there are great but they come with a major flaw. when i ran my first test i had leakes where because i didnt release that the compression come with a very small bag that had small o-rings that need to be put on first. tho thats not there flaw there problem is getting them off the tube its seems the cap screws on tighter that the fitting itself. so long story short i had to cut the tubes just to unscrew the dam thing then i need to use vice grips just to get the cap and the fitting apart . i damaged the treading and the paint alil bit on the compression but nothing majorEdited by jay2nice000 - 9/22/12 at 10:22pm
