Does anyone who has this case have awful overheating issues with 2 video cards? I was reading a review saying this is the worst case they have ever tested for video card cooling. Getting rid of mine because of this.

So you are getting rid of the case because of a rumor, or because you are having trouble with 2 cards over heating?

Also, are the cards water cooled, have basic fans that disperse the air or fans with a cover that blows the air out the back f a case.

I could never see this being an issue.

My 2 cards are overheating like crazy in this case. They are air cooled and they are both good cards with good factory coolers on them. They shouldn't be overheating but they are. I am quite certain that its this case to blame for it.

Normally your cards will overheat if you have your fans installed wrong.
You'll need to install them properly to prevent the hot air from circulating and trapped inside.
the air intake need to go from the front and out the back or top or sides.
If you have your fans blowing inside on the front and on the side panel with exhaust fan on top and rear, your cards will overheat like crazy.

I've been running two 5870's in crossfire for the last... 3 years about, originally I had the two cards crammed right next to each other. In this configuration the top card ran 10-15 degrees C hotter than when I put the bottom card in a lower slot reducing temps of both top and bottom card. Now they run both within an acceptable temperature range and don't make too much noise.

Now a couple questions;

Does your case have the mesh side? If yes with or without the side fan and its orientation.

Are your Sapphire cards the original blower style style coolers or the dual fan?

Do you have the bottom intake fan installed? Personally this fan helps more than the stupid 200mm side fan

My cards are the Dual X 2 fan cooler ones from Sapphire. One step up from the stock cooler. I do have the bottom intake fan installed yes but the fan I got for it is pretty slow. If I didn't have a new case coming I would probably try to get a faster fan for the bottom. My case does have the mesh side and the 200mm intake fan on it but oddly enough when I unplug the side fan and cover the mesh with cardboard the cards run about 5C cooler. I think the side fan interferes with the video card fans and just blows the hot air they are trying to expel back onto the video cards. Then the problem comes in that the top exhaust fan is so far above the video cards plus has a cooler in the way so the hot air from the cards has no where to go. I can feel the hot air around the cards when I put my hand near them but I don't feel any hot air coming out of the top of the case or the back exhaust fan.

Your absolutely right about the side fan causing more harm then good, hence why so many people are after the clear side panel instead. Then there's the issue you have where both your cards dump 80% of their heat back into the case itself, great for single card solutions but with multiple 250 watt cards churning away the case just can't dissipate the heat fast enough. I had worse case temps with two 8800GTs then my two 5870's because of that exact problem. But seeing as you're already in the process of replacing it I won't carry on any further.

I have the same problem with cooling more than 1 gpu and I am wondering what to do here. I was thinking of maybe buying the new NZXT H440 case and go watercooling and go the silent route.

Atm i cant run more than 1 GPU or else it gets toasty (affects my CPU temps a lot as well making it almost go to max temp 62c on my phenom x6 1055t. I got 2x Sapphire R9 290's Tri-X inc soon and they use more power than the 7950's i had.

To solve the current problem in the storm sniper I was thinking of disconnecting the side fan and then keep the front 200mm fan and maybe take out the 3.5inch bays to open the airflow but where does the air go then?
Does the hot air exit from the slot covers on the gpu like in a reference 290 blower?

My H50 cpu radiator is installed where the 120mm exhaust fan was in push pull configuration exhausting air. The top 200mm exhaust is still stock and i presume that it exhausts air out the case.

I've had my Sniper setup with a windowed side panel, still have the front 200mm intake, installed a 120mm drive bay intake in the middle 3 bays, installed a bottom intake fan for the gpu, H80 push/pull exhaust, and I also replaced the top 200mm with 2 exhaust fans.

I've never had more than one card in this case though so I wouldn't know what kind of issues that would bring. My OC'd cpu and gpu stay pretty cool with my current configuration even while running benchmarks and after hours of gameplay so I've been pretty happy with this case for the 1 or so year I've had it so far.

Well the new case I bought is the Corsair a540. It has 3 120mm fans blowing right on the front of the video cards.

What I did with the Sniper that got me the best temps is to attach 2 120mm fans on the outside of the hard drive cage right behind the video cards blowing on them. I used double sided tape to attach them. Then I cut some cardboard that fit the side mesh and took the fan off. I spray panted the cardboard black and taped it to the inside of the mesh to block the air. The 200 mm fan in the front intake doesn't really have enough power to blow past the hard drive cage because it's too restrictive and the fan is too weak so there is really no airflow to the video cards from the back. That's why you have to put fans on the other side of the cage.
