A hugh factor in any stable overclock is COOLING so, try reseating the H50 with some good quality tim such as ocz freeze, ic7, or mx-3 and use just the smallest amount the reseat the cooler.
Now for your unstable overclock, drop your ram freq ( divider ) down a notch to say the next lowest setting and run a stability test. You can come back later and tweak the ram timmings a little tighter when you are good with the overclock.
This is very true I ran at 3.48ghz at normal temps didn't boot. Iced it down and after about 10-15 mins she booted for me and ran super pi a bit at 3501mhz. Got it validated and tried out wPrime that was a failure within 2-3 secs. Since I am at 1.52v already I might push on and try 1.55v but some reason I think it dies out at ~450 FSB. 438 is where I am at at min chipset voltage.

I can get 2 or 3passes at 4.25, but seeing this I think with your help I can push it some more
-oh and +rep ofc
Yep, good job now if temps stay in check you got room for more but i find that with my e8500 the sweet spot was 4.2xx/4.3xx.

Rick, that's sweet! try 455 for validation, 445/450 you might be in a hole, only one way to find out. GL!

hard to disagree with genius LOL, or just captain obvious-type truth that even a dummy like me can't help but see it...anyway main problem I see is with that e8500 processor is the amount of voltage it needs, which in itself isn't the issue but the heat it creates, hence the 90+ temps with linx and such things that really make it work...

Planning to upgrade my cooling then, gona go a bit mad and grab a Silverstone TJ07 and stick a quad rad in there. Ebay the H50 and grab an apogy xt block.

Does anyone know of any NB/mosfet water blocks for this mobo?

Its funny after I really got into clocking this board I totally forgot about upgrading. Gonna throw the E4500 M0 chip in tomorrow hopefully from the DELL 530 in the other room. See if I can get some HWBOT validations and beat my past OC record with it of 3.4GHz on the P5K-E which was worn at time. That was on air cooling think I have a vid of it.

LOL

OK well it was very easy OCing the E2140 but this E4500 M0 chip is not as easy, here are some setting I have tried so far let me know if I am off on anything. Haven't played with this too much so sorry for lack of exact settings.

Speedstep: Disabled
Ratio: 10x-11x
CPU Freq: 3000+MHz
NB Latch: AUTO
FSB Finetune: AUTO
DDR Freq : SAFE Range
Enhance mode: AUTO

Ram -
AUTO or Config 4
AUTO might try PL10
5-5-5-15 tRFC 38-42
(rest default)

Voltages -
CPU +.050-.100
DDR +.200
Chipset +.050-.075
FSB +.25-.50
Core1 : 63%
Core2 67%
MCH: 64%
CPU PLL: 1.5

Gonna do more testing see what the issue is maybe FSB hole I hit or something?

Thanks for the help so far guys, I was trying to find my memory OC limit and the mobo failed to post .
So I reset the CMOS, and still no joy. Is there anything else I can do to get the board back up and running?

Got the board back up and running after a visit to the local repair shop.
Anyone know what NB volts this board is ok with for 24/7?
I'm currently running on 1.44V and the next step is up is 1.54V - which for a novice like me seems a huge jump up.
