This will eventually be my build log, but right now I need suggestions. I am going to be working a TON of overtime at work so I can make my girlfriend a computer for her birthday. Right now, she has an HP laptop that lags when playing WoW at the lowest settings. So, what I want to make is something that will easily play WoW but still be "cute" to her. I did ask her what color case she'd like, and she immediately said PINK... Blech... so... here is what I've found on NewEgg.com. Total comes out to about $488 before shipping and rebates.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions for changes? If I can get it even cheaper, I'd definitely would appreciate that lol

Well, he could go i7 for only $500 more

Hmm, could save $3 + shipping and get dvd-rom instead of burner

edit: I notice there are a lot of things on that list without free shipping. Try to choose ones with FS, as it does add up.

4850 FS

ram FS
Corsair 400cx PSU FS

I think you should tell her to forget about a pink case.

This case is "cute", right?

No. Go for the Rosewill 500W. They are perfectly fine performers. I am tired of everyone promoting Corsair. Their sub 750W units are not the best. They are average performers. The Rosewill costs less.

My advice as a girl is dont be cheep about the case. i like the one you have picked out even if you bought a cheaper case and spray painted it like some one suggested earlier in the thread the end cost would be the same if not more than the case you already have picked out. And with spray paint you wont get the nice sparkly pearl pink color that, that case has. My point is she probably is going to care more about what it looks like than all the parts inside as long as it plays the games she wants. And the case suggested above is HIDEOUS and only like $14 cheaper go for the one you have picked out already!!

Good Luck! im sure she'll love it when you're done!!!

With shipping and rebates, about $350-$370

Radeon 3650 should work.
I would personally go for that if it wasn't for the K8 processor included. I'd feel like its a step back for whats out there already. K8 is old. However, that processor is way more than enough for WOW. However, from experience, Radeon 3650 512MB will not max out WOW. I tested this on a 2 Ghz C2D laptop. I know I was processor bound, but to what point? I don't know. This was with Litch King @ 1280x1024 (i think it was 1024)
