Hey there...
Next couple weeks this is getting alot of attention, mainly because it's been sitting for way to dang long. I got some use out of it, then degassed it for changes. Then it sat.

And sat.

So here's some pictures to make you smile.

Did I mention it's getting a super evaporator?

I thought r23 was no longer being sold but I googled it and evidently I was mistaken.
I use r170 but would like to pick up a tank of r23 to play with can you tell me where you filled it?

Good luck and good to see this build back in action.

R23 is no longer in production; same to R22. However it is available. R22 has a restriction for use in NEW systems, however; R23 is not restricted past production.
I managed to find this one on ebay, its actually my second tank, and paying out the bum for it is always fun. rolleyes.gif

R170 is almost the same, but not having to use a flammable agent in a build is always nice.

Expect to pay almost $70-80 a lb though for R23 and a minimum quantity of 20 lbs. No one is "filling" tanks, but has 20 and 70lb tanks ready and sitting. Subdivision I believe is actually banned under the production statutes.

$250 for the tank deposit, $1300-1600 for the refrigerant itself. It's an investment, but now I have 40 lbs of R23! biggrin.gif
The problem is also, as with R22, the prices are rising.

Especially when they're fully loaded.
Electronic contactors and PIDS, good solid wiring, adjustable or TXV'd stages, and of course a solid steel cage; who could ask for more?

This one is most likely going to a trade show in August with a certain company and a certain ivy bridge CPU. wink.gif
