Case? for ASUS P6T7 WS (CEB Form Factor)

Thank you for taking the time to review my question.

I want to purchase the ASUS P6T7 WS Supercomputer LGA 1366 Intel X58 CEB Intel Motherboard and am looking for a compatible CEB case that offers good airflow. I was strongly considering the Cooler Master HAF 932 case but it does not indicate that it supports the CEB form factor. I see that the CEB and eATX form factors are very similar in size, but I didn't want to find out the hard way that the motherboard could not be securely mounted.

I'd very much appreciate anyone's help.

Thank you,

Gary Barr

There you go, but what do you need that mobo for?
You could just get the p6t6 ws revolution which is a normal size board that has almost exactly the same functionality. CEB is a server platform, and you will be hardpressed to find an attractive case that will accept it.

Hi,

I am in the same boat - Someone mentionned to me tobe carefull because the P6T7 WS Supercomputer is a CEB Form factor 12 inch by 10.5 inch or 30.5 cm by 26.9 cm.

The thing I do not understand and it is probably due to my lack of knowledge, the Asus Rampage Extreme II is an ATX Form Factor and it is 12 inch by 10.6 inch or 30.5 cm by 26.9 cm.

These dimensions we're taken from the Asus website.

So if a case like the Antec 1200 can accomodate the Rampage should it not accomodate the P6T7 ?

I wrote to Antec as well as Asus - no reply yet.

On another side, some users posting about the P6T7 have it installed in a Lian Li PC-P80B and that is rated as an ATX case. ( just to add to the confusion)

If anyone has any other information it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

PC Zone are classifying the P6T7 WS Supercomputer as an ATX Board. I provided the link ( Hope this is ok )

The mounting holes (9 of them) are in exactly the same place as ATX, the CEB spec just allows for wider boards than usual.

Thank you for taking the time to help me.

I intend on slowly populating the board with GTX 295's [or GTX + Tesla C1060 boards pending further research], for the purpose of analyzing the stock market. All spare GPU time will be allocated towards Folding @ Home as cancer effects me personally with my mother recently just completing treatment for stage 3 esophagus cancer. Praise the LORD GOD! one tumor miraculously dissapeared and awaiting data on the other.

I would have to say the P6T6 Revolution is also a super computer in my eyes. The price differential between the P6T6 and P6T7 is modest.

Until my applications bear fruit, I am starting with just one 295. From there, I will either add 295's or Tesla C1060's.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to help me.

Greatly appreciated,

Gary

Sorry to hear about the cancer, best of luck to both of you.

I assume I should have no problem with this board in my ABS Canyon 695 case?

I just installed my P6T7 WS in a CoolerMaster HAF932 and it fits perfectly, all mount holes align and there is adequate space between the board and the drive bays.
