based on most of the replies it seems people just don't understand what it dose .... if u have never used a sand box it is really kinda confusing ( i had the same responses before i started to use sand box apps) ....

would like to share a youtube video( more of a series of them ) a little less confusing ..
( YouTube- Sandboxie Review Part 1 ) * explains a little what it dose n a exsample
( YouTube- Sandboxie Review Part 2 )* if ur lazy or just dont care these r straight demonstrations

Now being as tho were on overclockers.net im sure most of us r pretty computer savey .. and being as tho you r computer savey ... u have plenty of friends n family u r constanly repairing windows for who are not so savey .... lol

this program in short allows programs to be ran on the computer in full functionality with out full access to the computers resources ( ie: registries / system folders / any folder ) it isolates the programs from the rest of ur computer but still allows it to run with near full compatibility .

similar to a virtual machine ... with out the use for a separate operating system .. or the knowledge of how to use one ... imagine giving ur porn/warez addicted sibling free access to the internet ... with the ability to close the web broswer and erase all and anything that was downloaded n the back ground with no adverse effect on the os ....

this means no call to you the next day to reinstall windows or figure out y there virus scanner was destroyed ..... no reinstalling programs .... no recovering documents ....

just a simple *click* ... shut down ... computer still works ...

thank u for sharing the app on this from ... and i apologize for the criticism of those who don't understand ... really is great program

I couldn't agree with you more! I find it funny how when I first joined this site my first thoughts where of how this place must be of a higher caliber of thought from a MORE INTELLIGENT CROWD but after reading some of these reply's on this particular thread it just goes to show (me anyway), it's not always true. Don't get we wrong, I feel there are a great number of intelligent people with worth while reply's on the topic but for those few others who just bash this program without knowing it's full potential just shows your total ignorance and pigheadedness (being polite here).
I have experience with both this program and VM's, each have they're own use and this program does have some very strong advantages over a virtual machine (and AV's) when it comes to testing unused programs which I do a lot of. If I may make a suggestion here perhaps if you really haven't had much experience in this area, just like me with OC'ing, sometimes it's better to research a bit before you put your foot in mouth. I have yet to come across a man (or women) who knows everything about every topic. And some of these folks on here because they think they know so much about how to OC, well, I won't go there lol.
Thanks for posting this thread and at least I appreciate the effort put into it. It is a very worth while program for those who need this type of extra security without putting your OS at risk and it does work very effectively. On my setup I see no slow down what so ever and have never had any issues by using it and recommend it to those who don't mind taking the little time to learn how to use it! If you can OC surely you can handle this.

I just have to bump this thread because of how awesome this program is and quoting this person cause he gets it. I know everyone who replied to this thread probably gets it as well, and if you think this program is stupid than we just might have to fist fight. I actually hope eventually Windows comes with this functionality built in with the next version of Windows, and possibly keyscrambler (but they'd just add that only to internet explorer and that would suck cause everybody and their dog uses firefox).

The only problem I face now with running no protection (wasted cpu cycle trash software virus scanner/heat generator/harddrive ram killer/psu destroyer) is worms. I'll probably end up creating my own UTM (unified threat management) with live network virus scanning, or maybe VLAN out a switch. And/or maybe a consistent backup image of my OS partition once a month. So with that I say goodbye to virus scanner again, into my second year no protection. I can thank Sandboxie, Noscript, Adblock Plus, Cheap Router & Keyscrambler for keeping my PC free from that junk, and well maybe I had alittle to do with it to cause it's mainly user error so I'll give myself a pat on the back and knock on wood!knock knock knock!
