Thread Starter
I got a computer for my birthday and its not bad i can run counterstrike source fine 100-200 fps with full graphics but when i try and run any of the Call of duty series (especially 1 & 2) i get really crap fps.

Just wondered how i could tweak my pc and how to overclock my gfx card and stuff.

Im pretty new to this so dont hate me

It would be really helpful if you can fill in your system specs some more, depending on the mobo, you might be able to oc the 9550, and I suggest getting a better video card

Get a Radeon HD 4770 and call it a day.

Also, you listed your RAM in MB....pretty sure you meant GB.

That video card is dated, consider getting a budget solution like a GTX250 or HD4770 and you will see amazing improvements and will be able to play today's games

It's an old one. Not sure if they made it for PCI-E, though....thought it was just PCI and AGP......

Yeah. Like I said, get a new video card. And that CPU overclocks like a champ, you could get it to 3.4 right now with almost no effort.

EDIT: Just read about it being integrated..... definitely get a new card. Doesn't matter what it is, as long as it's newer than that. 4770 or GTS 250 would do well here, as previously stated.

Wait, PHENOM 9550? Never mind, you could probably get it close to 2.6 or so easily, though.

Eh....you could get an extra 400 mhz out of it. 2.6 with stock most likely. Get the 4770 and you'll be set for a while.

Yea def overclock that CPU - Guesin your on stock cooling though? Those 9550's can get very hot!

If yopu can get a new GPU then a 4770 would be a good investment if not you will just need to lower your settings I guess.
