Custom 62mm TEC Water block - Page 20

i think worse for flow rates, but again increasing turbulence... also, here follows an analasys of your pics. just tell me if im wrong somehwere.

I may be interpreting it wrong, but flow on the left seems to be around the same as flow on the right... scale is about the same and so are the colors. (note: left and right may be top and bottom if your monitor doesnt fit the images next to eachother)

again, the scales are pretty close... and here something remarkable happens... while temperatures are around the same on the ends of the channels, near the outlets (though the left one seems a little cooler on average in that area as the heat is more confined to the channels than spread over the block) the temps on the start and halfway trough the channels (which translates to the center of the block) are lower on the left side than on the right side... the left block shows more green and yellow instead of red.

now i may be wrong, but even if its a small one, it does seem like an improvement to me

Actually the ones you posted without the cut outs are different. notice the difference on the radius of the 180 turns. you'll need to change them to be fair

yes i noticed that, if you have any with the correct 180's... i'll replace them and redo the analasys. i wonder waht difference it makes.

it make a difference .. square gets you better temps as it increases turbulence .. but if you've already go a restrictive block and a constant rad will reduce the turbulence. it's the whole compromise thing

yeah i know, but im wondering howmuch... to what extent it may be compromiseable with, or even negligeable compared to, other effects.

yeah sorry i didn't notice the rad difference .. i guess that means you want me to do a few more ... to be fair

from memory it makes quite a difference which is why the next few original designs i'll be doing with different rads to see whats the best.

So theres still some life left in your idea
