Why not just use brass ones ? that's plenty good enough in my book - pretty cheap too at least they are here in UK.

Any luck with designing a top yet ? Would it be possible to do a copper top I am not interested in an acrylic/acetal top and if possible with G1/4" tapping. If you haven't got a tap (and they aren't cheap.) you could just 8.8mm holes and I'll tap it. And if you haven't got an 8.8mm drill do them at 8mm and I'll sort it.
If the price you quoted earlier + plus a bit for a copper top I will definately have one.
I presume some of those holes match AM2/AM3

8.8? G1/4" requires 11.4mm holes.

EDIT: im not sure if you can find em where you live, but there are copper plated barbs
http://www.aquatuning.de/product_inf...er-plated.html
and compression fittings up to 3/8"
http://www.aquatuning.de/product_inf...er-plated.html

If you ask me though i'd say brass and nickel look much better.
I have such a weak spot for Bitspower's nickel 3/8" Compressions.

Yes your right....Don't know why I had G1/8" measurements in my head...Yes whatever I have got those too....cost a right arm and a leg...

Yeah the top needs abit more time spent on it. I will probably start machining it next week. it's clear that my machine needs some more maintenance before i do anymore machining so i need to get that done first. So machining the top will happen next week at the earliest.

I could make a copper top in theory but i know i wont.. that would require wider copper to machine from ... more copper would greatly increase the cost of the block .. and increase the postage ..

I dont want brass barbs cos they look like brass not copper and the point of plating would be so everything would look the same all coppery

Yeah I understand...well it was a nice thought while I had it....looks like I will have to look elsewhere...I can't use acetal/acrylic nor heatpipes... the choices dwindle looks like I will be doing my own after all.....

I suppose from a selling point of view I can see where you coming from BUT brass has always complimented copper for many decades and personally I quite like it. Coppper plating is dead simple just I wouldn't want to frig about with acids and stuff where possible I have used guilding but it's not for your intended application.

I was refering to the drills and taps....Brass and nickel plated compressions and barbs etc are very cheap in the UK. Don't forget we are a nation of copper/brass heating/hot water systems. (Why A/C is so expensive...it's little used.)

Oh damn you were refering to them as well (just looked at your link.) That's still expensive in my book I paid less....But the drill is the big bit...if your drilling loads of holes standard Hi-speed doesn't cut it certainly not in C110 and an 11.4mm is an arm and a leg.

OK lets back the truck up. Why do you want the cover made from copper instead of plastic ? what does it matter except for a very small gain it cooling performance you could get ?
