Update: Looks like i will be using Xp drivers instead of Vista drives for Vista. Xp drivers are about 30% faster then Vista drivers. Here are a few things to note:

Using XP drivers , Dxdiag data is fixed
It use to say 1218 or 1418 or something like that Total Memory, now it reads 256MB.

Not sure if that is a big deal, but Vista always showed incorrect stats in that area.

Just played GTA 3
Using Vista drivers, if i didn't put on " frame limiter " the game will drag horrible and stutter, but using XP drivers , i can leave off Frame Limiter and still get between 40-50 frames, with no stutter.

Crysis Warhead 1280x1024 AAX2 Medium to low settings , i can't believe this, but WOW, i never got this performance using Vista drivers at this scene. I can even record now at 1280x1024 which was impossible before.

Everything seems so faster, games, internet browsing , everything. LIKE OMG I just got a super performance gaming boost hahaha. XP drivers are superior over Vista in game performance. I always find ways to increase performance
Its like i am using XP with Vista install.

nvidia really needs an update for theirs, i liked the old one before they changed it.

I'm not sure if the layout for ATI really needs to be changed, but more-so adding more control over it. Adding more settings would be welcomed in my heart, maybe one day have it as full-featured as ATITrayTools. NVidia on the other hand, I like how they used to be. Ever since they tried to incorporate everything like nTune into the display drivers, it's been a mess.

I still have yet to try these drivers. I'm incredibly lazy at the moment, so I can't be bothered to go through the process

I am not talking about with Crysis, and yes when using Xp drivers obviously on Vista, its going to run in Directx9 with games. I was talking about how i still have Direct X10 and all of that. Those are Xp drivers , and as i said i am using Vista 32bit, but every game is running in dx9 now. Which is not a bad thing.

Where did you get the file?
What is the source of the Beta?

Got it from guru3d, another forum i post on:

http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.ph...77&postcount=1

Nobody is sure where that person gets those files, i have to wonder does he work for ATI or something. But he usually is the only person to release share beta drivers.

But if you don't trust it, just wait until the official release.

Thanks for the warning, I almost fell for it. For those of you looking for these great performance gains, keep in mind that Legendary only plays on PCI (not PCI-X) graphics cards.

There is no XP mode driver support in Vista. The models have changed.

Xp ATI catalyst drivers work just fine in Vista 32bit SP2. No problems. However with Nvidia , thats a different story. I tried install them on vista, and it will install, but the CP is not present and half my games crash with a BSOD warning.

There is absolutely no reason at all to try and force XP drivers into Vista. At all. Just use the Vista drivers. They were specifically developed for that operating system (which is why the Nvidia XP drivers don't work in Vista). You are using the drivers in a way they were not intended to be used, and the fact that you even got the XP drivers to work in Vista is a fluke in itself.

I guess I shouldn't expect any different from a guy who insists on running Windows 2000, PCI graphics cards and games that are 7-10 years old though. No reasoning for any of that. At all. It's beyond personal preference and into just sheer stupidity or trolling.

I swear, 90% of your posts just make me throw my fists in the air and howl with frustration.

Force? I don't have to force to do anything, because they install just fine.

Well see i would do that, if Vista gaming performance was faster and less demanding than XP, but in reality XP is faster than Vista. It doesn't matter tho, as soon as i get my New Dual Core system, i am going to use XP Pro on it, so i won't have to deal with Vista anymore. Not saying Vista is bad, Vista is the fastest and most Stable OS i ever used, however as for Gaming XP waaay faster. Even if i had faster cards which i should soon, Xp is the best OS to use IMO. I guess i will use Vista or Win7 once Windows Xp and windows 2000 does not function anymore with anything, but i don't see that happening anytime soon.

Well someone else got them working before i did, over at guru3d, so i just tried them myself and the dude was right, they work.

Yes i plan to use Windows 2000/SP4 with a Intel Core2 Quad Processor Q8300 when i buy that rig later this year. And yes i plan to always use PCI cards on that machine. See unlike some people i am not obsessed with graphics or obsessed with getting 100 or 200fps at super high resolutions.

And btw, about the PCI thing, you really don't wanna know what i am thinking on that issue, lately i am deciding should i even move away from PCI, just have to wait and see i guess.

Stupidity? How so, because i refused to build computers and shop online, who cares or wait, its because i use PCI cards? Trolling? No, i have a difference of opinion.

So when Vista was released in 2006 and driver incompatibility was such a major issue that it put an albatross around its neck for another 2 years we were just all stupid because we didn't just use XP drivers? Quit talking out of your ass. Just because people have reported success with getting these drivers to work on Vista does not mean they are XP drivers. Disassemble the installers script *IF* they really do work then the only logical conclusion is that Vista/7 drivers are included but not referenced in that package. Anything else is bunk, please don't demonstrate your ignorance again.

Are you saying i am lying?
I am using XP drivers on vista. Every game i play now is running in XP mode, thus why everytime i play crysis or warhead it says dx9 in the displayinfo 1. How about you install Vista 32bit and install it for yourself
