Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P F2C BIOS - Page 4

I just attempted to enable Hybrid EC firmware and ACC with the default BIOS that Gigabyte gave me from @BIOS. After saving, I get the message telling me the firmware is updating and not to unplug. The computer restarts a few seconds later, however, as it is spinning back up, it just powers off, and I need to reset my BIOS in order to boot properly.

I also download the F2C BIOS, applied it with @BIOS and got the same result. I couldn't see any difference at all between F2 and F2C other than @BIOS telling me which version I have.

What would prevent me from booting after turning on hybrid firmware?
Copy the F2C to a USB drive and use the Q-Flash utility (hit F8 when powering up) and see if it works. Also turn OFF Cool 'n Quiet if you haven't done so. Here's a good thread to read:

OK, so I unlocked my 550 BE today, all went well on my UD3P board with the F2C bios. On post, it says I now have a Phenom X4 (awesome) and loads windows no problem. Once windows is started, device manager reports that I do indeed have 4 cores. But thats where the magic ends. Prime95, CPU-Z and task manager report only 2 cores. How can this be? Please help as I am unsure what the heck is going on here. Many thanks!

Gigabyte has posted a new BIOS for the UD3P ... F4 ... which has all unlocking settings still in place.

Each BIOS posted by Gigabyte, F3 F4 F5 and now currently F6A has unlocked all 4 cores of my 550BE successfully. Each version has ACC and Hybrid options listed so don't be afraid to try the newest BIOS. G'luck

Thanks for the update. I have all the BIOS's on a thumb drive, just waiting for my rig components to get here. I'm actually curious as to which BIOS will be loaded on my board. I'll try to post up what I can when it gets here by this weekend. Specs below, I'm hoping for a solid unlock but even if not I'll be happy with OCing this dual core.

Hey, I have a Phenom II X3 720BE, and I want to try unlocking it.
To what version should I update, F5 or F6A?
Also, if something goes wrong (I've read reports of PCs not booting) what should I do?
Thanks.

Gigabyte is keeping the BIOS updates rolling. They just released F9. I've flashed them all and have had no problems unlocking all 4 cores with any of them.

Link no worky. But geez, I'm still on F5. Not that the BIOS version seems to make any different for me in unlocking (I can't).

The GA-MA770T-UD3P board has 6 revisions now which means that Gigabyte keeps rolling out the BIOS updates, good for all 6. (I have the original 1.0 board)

The latest BIOS is F12 that, interestingly, locates the CPU unlock location under Advanced BIOS Features rather than the previous "MIT" spot.

I've never had a problem unlocking my Phenom II 550 BE but those that have had problems maybe the newest BIOS will help. Good luck
