no, the UD3LR has crappy heatsinks, two less SATA ports (no biggy, i wouldn't recommend the JMicron ones anyway) and probably a lower binned P45.

a heatsink around the VRM's in particular and a better NB+SB heatsink is definitely worth $30 to me, especially when the VRM heatsink gets so hot already! Imagine what they're like without a heatsink at all!

Again, would recommend you shy away from gigabyte and coolermaster PSU's... corsair is far superior.

Well, now we're in a totally different ball game lol... your friend has a point though - i think AMD would be great for this budget. I do recommend spending the extra ~$20 for a Phenom II X2 550 BE
6MB of L3 cache!!!!!!! the Athlon doesn't have any!
100mhz faster stock clock
potentially unlockable to four cores on the right board - the Athlon has no such potential.

Not sure about that board either, it looks like a cheapy mATX. Get a good solid 790FX full size ATX board. You could also save some money on that RAM - 800MHz is fine and can OC to 1066 anyway...

Check if www.pccasegear.com ships to New Zealand. Just contact them, they are usually quick and very helpful. I've seen them go out of their way to ship stuff anywhere

Also, for $2000 NZD, I'm sure you can fit an i7 build in. Buy from an Australian site that ships to NZ...seriously. The prices are much better.
