@scc28 - Just hold on to what you have now until you can upgrade to DDR3. If you do stay with the DDR2, I would look at other boards that are known to be more stable.

Yep I'd say that's a glitch - WELL above boiling... I have one in hwm that reads below 20c at times when my room temp is about 75f... don't think that is possible either. But I did some more research on everest and nvidia 780a - mcp temps into the 70s, though scary, seem pretty common (most read around 50). anything close to the 90's and higher are considered problems. I may experiment with seating and cooling options on the Nb Sb Br to lower all my temps anyway.

On another note I started with the 9950be and upgraded to the 940be with very nice results. If anyone has upgraded from the 940be up to the 965be or higher let me know how it turned out. Thanks

It's scary to watch a sensor read 35*C, run Prime95, and watch it sky-rocket to 127*C.
I am still sitting on my 9850BE and trying to figure out if I want/need a CPU upgrade, and if so, which one?

Depends on how much you want to spend and the number cores you need. The Phenom II X2 555BE provides the best bang for your buck. And if you're lucky you get a quad core that will overclock to 3.8-4.0Ghz depending on your cooler and case flow.

Bang for the buck?
I don't think so....
within 1 year it will be absolete if he is unlucky with those unlockable cores.
1090t is pretty much all you need for a long while. When overclocked to 4ghz it beats a intel 980x ( 900 bucks ) in some tests. Since most of of these things overclock easy and stay cooler than a 940 quad at the same speed this is more bang for buck now and future talking if you ask me. You need to think ahead not just for the now moment....

Hey guys, Im new to the boards. I was at work surfing the web and found it. I've been using the Crosshair II for about 1yr 1/2. I've been debating on OCing this bad boy, but I dont know much about it. Figured you guys would be the ones to help. I just put a liquid cooling setup on this puppy. I want to OC it a bit, but i dont want my north and south bridges to explode from heat. I'm a proud owner and not ashamed to voice it! =P

a bit off topic from last discussion.
This is probs a ridiculous question but i was thinking bout getting the GTX 460 and then wondered for SLI does it matter if you use the 2nd or 3rd PCIe slot, will it still run at x16, x16?
