i should know this but just making sure.
can u unlock cores on the crosshair II? if so how?

No, you cannot unlock cores on the CH II. You need ACC to do that, which is only on AMD chipsets. Nvidia developed a work-around on their 980 chipsets, but it is not officially available anymore, and its effectiveness is so-so.

im having a bit of trouble with my OCing. i dont seem to be able to get it over the 2.31GHz no matter wat i change. added NB frequency and power, higher core voltage, everyting but i still cant get it over.
i only have a 4 pin connector in as i dont have an 8 pin for some reason, which may be the problem, and just wondered wat i could do to get it higher?

You may have answered your own question.
Look into getting a Molex to 8-pin adapter. Having that extra juice will definitely get you higher OCs. The biggest difference between 4-pin and 8-pin is overclocking ability.

I added the latest BIOS update (2607) from Asus to the original post. It has some fixes for issues with Phenom II CPUs.

Looks good. What are your temps like?

I just upgraded my BIOS to 2607 and plopped in a 955 CPU. The system just seems snappier overall. I have tried undervolting at stock clocks, but any setting under stock voltage results in a no boot situation. Any advice?
