Thinking the same thing. Looking to upgrade my bro's HP, but it's maxed out right now cause it's a AM2, and no support for any processor past Athlon64x2 4800+ Brisbane it has. So far looking around, this is the best board I can take everything out of his HP and he can slowly work up to a AM3 setup. Subscribing to this thread, so no need for a PM, as long as you post that you would like to sale.

(I just realised, you guys aren't in the UK) How much would you guys be willing to pay for a Crosshair II Formula? £100?

Hi all,

I've owned this board for about 3 years now, and it's never failed me. Currently have a 9950BE on it with a MSI 465GE graphics card, and I think my CPU is the limiting factor with somethings. I noticed that hex core support is now available for this board, so was wondering what if any limits are there with 6 core chips on this board? I'm planning on keeping this board for at least another 5 years before upgrading to whatever is hot in the year 2017, or at the very least I want to max everything out before I decide I need more. I have some more questions but want to ask them one at a time. I love this board thumb.gif

The hexa core would be a very nice upgrade. Although its not very necessary at the moment, the 955BE which is on sale at about $100 would be a good option. You should update your BIOS to the latest version before you purchase a new cpu.

Good luck.

Good luck.

I am in Japan and the price difference between a 955 at 1090t is minimal. Bios is already updated, I just wanted to know if there are any Hex cores that don't work, or any limitations with the latest bios.

Thanks for the prompt response

Speaking of the Hex Core i have a 1090T in mine, and i love it, just having a lil trouble getting it 100% stable @4ghz id say im at 99.9% stable as it will run prime 95 for 1 hour 36min and then prime detects errors, im still messing with it trying to get my NB and HT voltages correct... ill Post Later on my status and settings!

just make sure u have latest bios 2702 i believe as 2607 supports the hex core but doesnt allow you to adjust the multiplier

grrr and ive change my system info in my profile but its still showing my old CPU ARGH

So I supposed hoping they will be a bios update with bulldozer support is futile?

I would definitely like to see your stable stats. I am a very very amateur overclocker, but would like to get better at it. I can get my 9950 stable at 3.2GHZ on a cold day. I am sure if I knew *** I was doing I could get a little more out of it, but I really need something that will run faster and with more muscle.

there will be no support for bulldozer on crosshair II, but thats ok the 1090T and 1100T are really good chips and when overclocked to their full potential are really fast!!!

went and picked up a corsair H-60 liquid cooler for 60$ at best-buy... added a second fan on the rad for Push/Pull max temps is 60 idle is 31 1.45v now @ 4ghz ran prime 95 for 12 hours no errors

pictures of my rig are in my profile, i can post screen shots if you want!

core 4018mhz
1.45v
fsb 200.9
x20
HT&CPU-NB 2611mhz
Ram 1066mhz
everything else auto
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2172244

also 3.2ghz on a 9950 is pretty good, the original phenom's wasn't much of a overclocker i have a 9850 and i was only able to get 2.8ghz on air with it.

if you would like some one on one help overclocking with this board you can find me on irc @ irc.geektechhelp.com channel #lobby

Hey, sorry for the late response. Sure, I'm always down to see pics, especially of the same MOBO I have. I'm still hunting for a decent price on either something like a 955BE ~980BE, or a a Hex core. I finally think I need it as I have recently started rendering high bit rate high resolution video projects. Considering what I am doing the 9950 is doing well, but there are sticky points, and I cannot edit with full quality view on. It is close to playing smooth at times though, so I doubt I need much more than what I have, but then I always like to be future ready, so maybe I will just plop down for a 1100t next month.
