I7ve had limited success OCing my memory, but I may give it a go again since I haven't tried since getting the 1090t. In the past I was able to reach 960mhz, but that is about it. I've been keeping my eyes open for some 1066 or 1200 locally, ad am sure if I venture to akihabara I can probably find some smoking ddr2... probably at a premium though.

Please let me know what luck you have with the TLB patch, and thanks for all.

yeah u will defantly want to get some 1066mhz ram for best results, i recommend Corsair Dominator myself, ive had mine up to 1100mhz but havent really tried to push it any further

Hi to all... i have been a crosshair II user for 3 years now and haven't had a problem until recently changing my CPU to Phenom II 965 BE c3 rev... all ran well for 2 weeks then i had a visit from the "PC gremlins" who caused all sorts of wierd problems, like no SLi on graphics Cards, Wrong speed and wattage for cpu on HWmonitor, no longer able to overclock cpu although hadnt even tried that yet, bios corruption, unable to enter bios... etc etc... i removed the cpu and whacked my old athlon 64 x2 7850 black edition back in and all is well again. I am getting the CPU RMA'd with AMD for a replacement.

Have you updated the bios to the latest version?? Bios version 2702
Ive got a amd Phenom II 955 c3 rev overclocked to 3.8Ghz and its working fine.

I'd just like to update that I am still rocking the Asus Crosshair II with an AMD 1090T processor. I was ready to upgrade to a ddr3 system till I learned that any higher than 1333 (or was it 1600) ram is not really a performance boost with DDR3 system due to a bottleneck. Anyways, the Crosshair II is still a rock, everytime I think I killed it doing something dumb, I just fiddle around until it comes back around working as strong as ever. Sometimes I have had to remove t he CPU and reinstall it though for who knows what reason. I am getting ready to finally update the ram due to my accidental destruction of a 2 GB stick. I will likely go with some very high end 1066 4 GB sticks. I would love to get a set of 4, but I think getting either one at a time or a set of two and then trying one at a time till I get a matched set of 4 will be more fitting to my monthly income. $300+ is just so F'in much to drop in one bucket for RAM. I will update if and when it happens, as I expect this to take away the only lag I have with this system, which only occurs during serious Video Editiing (150MB/s) 1080p with several effects loaded.


I will rock this board as long as it keeps up with what I am doing.

In the spirit of honesty I had to make a serious but easy decision based on economics. it can be summed up easily in this way

16 gb of DDR2 = $350 to $450

16 gb of DDR 3 = $60 + one used Sabertooth 990fx for $90 = $150 with the ability to add 16 gb more ram whenever I want for another $60

So, yes I finally put my crosshair II back in its box, and am now using a Sabertooth board. I was able to overclock my 1090t to 5.3ghz with less voltage than my Crosshair II took to reach 4.3 on the first day. Granted it freaked me out, and I am back down to 4.3ghz but at just 1.45V vs about 1.55 with the crosshair ii.

I will try to put the crosshair ii back to work as a media library system in the future, but the Sabertooth will be my new work horse.

Thanks to those on this thread, I truly believe the Crosshair II is still one of the best boards out there.

Hi, anyone here? I want to overclock my Phenom II X940 BE with AMD OverDrive, but last version(even v3) cannot detect my CPU. Am I doing something wrong? AOD v3 is for old Phenoms like 940, but still nothing, so I think there is some problem with my board.... :/
