Yeah, but now you are adding all of the heat from the electricity which could very easily be overwhelming the TRUE

Didn't you try these plates with your TRUE too? What numbers did you get?

That's somewhat irrelevant since the TEC i used was different and the load im cooling is different .. and i only had one 80 cfm fan ..

i however saw a small gain

You basically need better hot side cooling probably worth trying one of those mega... heat sinks.. I did recommend against using a TRUE for this ...

But i know your MR True :-)

Essentially It works the cold side is colder than the hot side but your unable to remove the heat from the hot side sufficiently enough meaning instead of having a 0c cold plate your ending up with a 20c cold plate and a 40c hot plate instead of 20c

Hmm.

Well now I'm getting a max of 62°C at 12V, which is still decent. Not overwhelming though, but decent for air cooling I guess

Next step would be to try out the entire game at 4GHz, but I am pretty dumbfounded at the systems stability.

450x8.5 @ 1.3624V and 1.4V VTT= stable
450x8.5 @ 1.3625V and 1.325V VTT = won't boot
475x8.5 @ 1.4V and 1.475V VTT = won't boot.

What am I missing here?

What TIM did you use on this thing ?

You shouldn't be needing more than 1.4VTT to run a 475FSB. You may need to tweak your GTL reference lanes just to get it to boot. I would try 1.4v and +50 on all lanes if that boots, then you can start tweaking the individual lanes.

Thanks, I'll try that

What about the PLL voltage? I didn't have that on the XFX and left it on Auto. SPP 1.40, MCP 1.525 HT 1.25V. Vdroop off.

BTW I unmounted the TEC. It was starting to build up condensation.

yeah i bet a bit of insulation should help to reduce some temps

Do you have any pics ?

.... so can you sum up your temps before and after the TEC and what voltage and overclock your running?

With CPU Pll, it's a crap shoot. Some cpus really love more PLL and they will go up to 1.7v
I have mine running at 1.5v which is the lowest my 65nm Quad will go, and I don't get anything extra with higher PLL.; I think it's just because I'm not running a really high FSB.

Side Note: Anatech reportedly fried a 45nm Quad by running it at 1.42vcore and 1.51VTT. Just wanted to let you know. Source

Yeah I have a few crap shots of the old insulation job on the XFX board, which are virtually useless unless to show how not to do it
I didn't make any detailed shots of the current TEC setup, but I'll make some as soon as I reach my goal of having a stable 500x8.5 setup.

I'm currently running stable with following settings:
475x8.5 @ 1.3875V
VTT: 1.4V
PLL: 1.5V
GTLREV: 50mV each
RAM: 475MHz 5-5-5-18 2T @ 1.80V

Raising the Vcore to 1.4V makes it unstable.
A VTT of 1.5V doesn't help.
0mV and 25mV on GTLREV won't let it boot.

What exactly does GTLREV do? Are they "ministeps" for in between the Vcore steps or something?
