the i7 has 4 cores and hyperthreading so 8 threads ever seen a i7 task manager Attachment 115865

see shows up as 8 cores
you might be a noob, but I am not I know the i7 even though I dont have one. is your clocked at 4ghz? stock i7 is ok seeing as it has 8 threads compared to a 3.2ghz phenom 2 with 4 threads . seems equal to me

This is fun. I know i7's are better in everything but gaming(and price and temperatures and customer service) but I'm still defending AMD. Either way, this thread should get back on topic.

Stay on topic, fellas. (This goes for the OP as well.)

This is a Build Log thread, not necessarily the right place to wag e-peens in the wind or to debate the merits of AMD/Intel or ATi/nVidia.

Where'd you get that bracket? I feel like ordering an ESata usb drive to achieve 64 Mb/s transfer speeds.

On topic:
Did you look at the new NZXT Panzerbox case? I never want to bash anyone for what they have but... I recon that your rig will look very sexy in that case.

the way you are saying, looks like the i7 doesn't overclock at all. That's not true, you can oc the i7 to 4GHz

Does it really matter?

You have a great rig there. Might want to work on some cable management holes. I still have to do that as well
