Probably a silly question, but do mechanical boards have some kind of standard key-caps? I ordered a CM quickfire rapid ('cause I couldn't afford a filco tenkeyless) and I was wondering if I could replace the keys with a set from Ducky or Filco for example?
Would love to have a blank set wubsmiley.gif

Yeah they do. You can use practically any keycap so long as it is for cherry mx stems.

Where should I look for good, preferably affordable key-caps? I could get a Filco blank keyset for 30 euros.

You're probably not going to find any cheaper than that. That's about what my blank set cost.

There are some good ebay sellers that ship worldwide for quite cheap.

Hey guys, I haven't posted here in a loonngggg time.

I'm not sure if we're still keeping the list in the OP up to date, but if we are, whoever is in charge of that can switch me to just having a FKBN87MC/EB (Tenkeyless Filco w/ MX Blue), I've been using this as my main keyboard over my Majestouch-2 due to the preference for Tenkeyless as well as the Blue switches (Browns seem boring after using Blue for a bit!), and I've sold off my Choc Mini long ago. The Majestouch-2 would probably have been sold by now if it wasn't for the Geekhack downtime as of late frown.gif

Throw the keycaps in a jar with 6 denture cleaner tabs...trust me. It's cleaned up 20+ year old keycaps off IBMs in 6 minutes without any scrubbing needed. thumb.gif
