Yeah, it's called RAID10 (or RAID0+1).

if you are going to raid four drives you might as well go with RAID5 if possible. You get nice speeds, and parity, which means all4 drives get used in the array, and even if one drive fails, the rest can be used to rebuild it wtihout data loss. Its faster than RAOD 0+1, more reliable, and generally safer.

RAID5 write performance is terrible unless you have dedicated RAID controller. I wouldn't go RAID5 unless you have one.

Raid 0+1 is fine, I would recommend (if you dont already) 2x same size drives and a single drive twice the size (maybe slightly larger).
I have never had problems with raid 5 and it can rebuild itself if a drive fails, you can use as many drives as your controller will let you. 4 is usually the max for a decent to low priced raid 4 capable card. Except for server boards, I do not trust anything other than raid 0 or raid 1 for onboard raid.

Hmmmm? RAID0+1 requires at least 4 drives.

It's not the same as RAID10 though. RAID10 is two RAID 1 sets, with the data striped over them to create the RAID0 set.
Look here for RAID10 vs RAID 0+1 comparisons:

And thats gonna cost a lot, lol. Yeah my friend did raid0 with two wd 640gb 7200rpm and the computer ran faster than single drive. If you got the money raid 0+1 is the best way to go since if you lose one harddrive, you still got the other set of hd
