Please for the love of god tell me it has full fledged mouse support. After recently playing RE4 on PC I can't take that for granted, I guess.
Yes it does. I should probably put it in my sig or on the front page that RE4 PC WAS DONE BY UBISOFT, NOT CAPCOM.

Anyway, yes it will have full m+kb support. And one better, the inventory will be able to be accessed by hotkeys so you don't have to mess with the pop up inventory constantly.

I should've told you in the other thread - the consoles had the hotkey function too. You could instantly whip out any of the 4 directional slots with the Dpad on the controller (the top, bottom, left, and right center slots). While you may be able to do it on the computer more, like all the slots and not just the center directional slots, the controller is still probably faster at it considering you won't need to hotkey any weapons more then just those 4 or even 3. And if you do, then you're doing it wrong.

My stratedgy was - never carry more then 3 weapons. Hotkey the top, left, and right with the 3 and then the bottom would be my healing item. Only carry 1 healing item, give the rest to the partner. Also strategically place your ammo next/ajoining to your 3 weapons. You will NEVER have to reload - in order to do that, instead of sitting and waiting for the reload animation: open up the menu and use the combine function with the ammo to the weapon. At first it is slower, but eventually (at least I did) you'll get so used to it and fast with it, all of your weapons will takes less then a second to reload. If you watch my youtube videos, some of the more recent ones I do it so fast the that the item menu flashes for a fraction of a second that you can't even tell I did it and I'll have full ammo without having to "reload". If this is possible on the keyboard, I don't know. I guess you could if you bind the keys close enough to wasd and get really used to it, but nothing will beat that analog stick.

Nothing particularly special about the technique ... I just renamed the file to Crysis.exe and my FPS shot up by about 66%.

Attached is screenie on DX9 with everything on/maxed out, with 8xAA @1920x1200.

Average across all is 107.5fps.
