Its That Time Again Chaps!

Right...
Looking at getting a complete new system...
but possibly keeping my 3870x2?! - thats if its still up to the job and not worth scrap metal now

Can anyone recommend:
CPU
RAM
Motherboard
PSU
Case
etc...
(But without going tooo mental on the wallet)
As its a new system, i would like it to be a bit quiter when its running...lol

PS...
are the self build Dell or Mesh Computers any good?

Do you want to stick with AMD or are you willing to spread your wings.
if your going for budget, then AMD are doing some good prices.
AMD 72BE (on offer!): 720BE
Gigabyte GA790x-UD4P: Mobo
OCZ DDR3 RAM: RAM
OCZ ModXstream PSU: PSU
and thats the basics for ~325 GBP, now you could upgrade the CPU, but a 720BE is a very powerful chip and combined with that mobo you've got a chance of unlocking the 4th core and getting a full quad for under 100 quid! the motherboard allows for xfire support so if you shell out for a 48xx then theres the possibility of later improvements, and the PSU will supoprt two graphics cards such as 2 4870's

Okay first things first. Those two 3870 will still do great as long as your not a benchmark hound.

So lets get started chap.

CASE The CoolerMaster Storm Scout. Insides are painted and it has tool less bays for all your stuff and plenty of fans and bling. Even has a ESata port on the front.

PSU Im an AMD man and I love the AMD 940. Its good for about 3.6 ghz and has a 6mb cache.

Motherboard The Gigabyte boards with the 750 southbridge are great. The Asus M4A79 is also an awesome board but its pricey.

Memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231270
This memory has been overclocked to 1200 mhz @ 1.8 Volts

PSU With the two 3870s and overclock on the processor I will suggest anything with 650 to 750 Watts with a bronze or silver 80+ rating. Don't go with a cheap psu.

with addition to my build further up, coolingwise yuo could get soemthing like a vendetta 2, or something more pricey as you have got a higher budget than I was planning for
casewise pretty much what ever you like the look of, the Antecs are nice, the CM Scout is nice too, most of the Lian-Li cases are good etc
HDD wise a Caviar Black is a nice solid quiet drive, you could also use extra budget to get a Blu-ray drive on the go too!!

EDIT - Enigma, also, this guys a scot, so no newegg lovliness for us im afraid, links should be from Overclockers.co.uk or scan.co.uk really

lol well if you really hate building a PC, you have two options, either buy a prebuild PC, which will be more expensive, worse, and less overclockable, orrrrrr post me your cash Ill build it for you and you can come pick it up from my house
