haha, well I dont know how Im meant to go about doing it...

Doesnt seem as easy / safe as OC'ing my graphics card (with ati tool/ati tray tools/rivatuner)

Oh and I seem to have been sent the wrong HD4890 Vapor-X I was sent to OC'd version when I only ordered the normal version ;D

870MHz/1050MHz ftw

Looks like Im RMA'ing my CPU & Mobo...

My PC wont start, took my cpu out to clean it off (to put new thermal paste on), put it back in, put the new cooler on, turned it on and it wouldnt boot, it wont even POST.

I just keeps turning on, spinning the fans for a few seconds, and then turning on again and doing the same thing... theres no beeps or anything :[

Any reason why this should be doing this? Ill probs be submitting the RMA request's today.

Take the CPU back out, and check the contact pads, they might have some thermal paste on them...Mine had that, and after a wipe it would boot successfully..Just eliminate all the normal troubleshooting things ebfore going the RMA route, such as cables plugged in and standoffs in the mobo, nothing shorting etc...

Ahh thanks Style, there is some on one of the pins, any chance you know how to get it off? I dont want to static anything but I dont want to use anything that might get stuck to the pins / damage them even more.

Thanks again

I use either 99% Isopropyl or denatured alcohol and a steady hand with something small enough to get between the pins, like a Q-Tip.

Thanks Zzyzx, I cleaned all of the pins off but im still getting the same problem, I think I may have snapped one/bent one, Im pretty sure its not the CPU as the contacts on it are fine

Ive contacted scan and they are going to replace it as soon as I send it back [scansure ftw (Y)]
