Bloody Water new build haf 932 bix 360

Updated 12/15/11

Parts showed up, whole new system, 17 2600k, fatality z68 asrock, gtx 580 hydro copper 2 3gb.

d5 pump with 3/8 x 5/8 tubing and all black compression fittings, xspc dual bay res, raystorm block. ddr3 1866 ram 16gb and a crucial m4 256 gb ssd.

I will post pictures as soon as I can, working all week so it will be saturday before I can even really start, have to disassemble old pc and exchanging most of this one with the wife's rig. She is getting the i7 920 with an H70 and a gtx 285. The gtx 460's overheated and have to RMA that back to gigabyte. Might use one of those for physx sli but think that the gtx 580 will handle all of it on a 27" monitor.

Thanks for all of your help over the last few months planning this beast! Hope it all works well.

Went with ap 29's 6 of them in push pull with a fan controller on the bix 360. Hope that works, I am afraid they will fry the rinky dink fan controller I got from aero-cool. I will keep you all posted.

reserved and a bump, suggestions are not just appreciated, I am begging for them! This is my first build and I don't want to do it wrong..

Flash forward a few years and still havent finished the water! I am ashamed! haha. upgraded to gtx 460 sli's and raid 0'd some wd caviar blacks. I have to take it apart to replace some fans so I should have pictures and updated results posted this week.

This should be fun, as soon as part start showing up, post pictures. Use the space in your OP, that way people dont have to go look for them later. Use as much of the OP and second Reserved spot as possible. And have fun.

I am actually tearing everything apart and i cant decide on getting a new motherboard and i7 960 or saying heck with it and getting an asrock fatality with i7 2600k... really any help would be great, running gtx 460s sli overclocked pretty high and i dont want to waste money getting them on water, but my mobo doesnt have enough space for the aftermarket air coolers to get cool enough..

card
xxxx --- fan underneath drawing hot air from lower card
card
xxxx ---- the bottom one is great, have some nice 120mm fans going to it on the side.

honestly i could use some input here, i am really torn on what to buy.

Is noise a concern?

The D5 should be wery quiet, the xspc dual bay res is a bit noisy I hear.

UPDATE!

Lol, 6 months later and it is done. I had a fiasco with broken fans from PCS, they wouldnt replace them and I said hell with them, ordered from Frozen and got 6 more scythe ap-29s. Anyway, work, family, kids birthdays and I just about gave up ever building this thing! I will post pictures as soon as I can get my phone on here and some interface installed.

Had 2 small leaks, found it in testing and fixed with a simple half twist on a fitting. The tubing and such was not really hard at all, just warm the ends and stretch with something a tiny bit. Lights turned out kinda meh, havent put the cold cathode in but the raystorm in the heart with UV leds looks amazing. The one on the bay is to weak, but oh well. What else can I say, overclocking everything now.

Video card GTX 580 hydro copper 2, core 908 memory 2025, idle 29C furmark stressing 45C with fans on medium. I7 2600k 4200 mhz and idle 29/33/27/26 (one core is always higher, dunno if that is just how this chip is or if the block is mounted a little goofy, they are so low I dont really care right now.) Intel BT max core is 51C and others are 47-46-43. This is all with fans on medium.

I am trying to use the auto fan control to slow fans down, have it all on the akasa fan controller, but they won't go below 60%. Unless I manually change them, not sure why, using that F-Stream from ASROCK. it might be junk I dont know. anyway, all the reading on here really came in handy, and for anyone thinking about doing it... just do it. Feels great to finish it finally.

Oh, and don't water cool your video cards, just my 2 cents, I bought most of this stuff for a GTX 285 and an i7 920, original stepping. I have had these parts that long. If it wasnt for the video cards I would have had my cpu on water a year ago. Just my 2 cents. of course a 40C gtx 580 is kinda sick.
