Lowest CPU Temp? - Page 3

Liquid helium which becomes a liquid at -268.9°C (-451.8°F), is as close as it gets to absolute zero/−273.15°.

So, CPUs @ -240-250ºC is close enough for me, til extreme overclocking goes Fusion.

Wait. I thought when people use liquid nitrogen and liquid helium to cool CPU, the CPU itself is around 80C load due to the extremely high frequency its been clocked to.

Nope under load the cpu is around -212 if its at around 6-7ghz under load. 80c with liquid helium being blasted on it? come on, common sense mate

Use lasers and magenetic bottles, helium can get down to like -273.1499999°C or .00000001K.

LOL. Then you don't know what you're talking about then. Absolute zero is −273.15°C. If they achived -275°C, then were able to get to negative entropy and someone would be getting a Noble prize.

i guess there is no sense in saying i meant Fahrenheit and no use in making a polite rebuttal but, i should have been more specific

CPUs can go to absolute zero(−273.15 °C(if you can get there)) because they are made of silicon and some metallic components in them they will never stop functioning even if you are on the dark side of the moon(-200°C)

Please elaborate. Because once you reach absolute zero there is no energy transfer. Therefor there wouldnt be electrons flowing in the chip.

Correct me if im wrong.

Well even though the chip might be absolute zero i would imagine the actual circuit in which the electricity is flowing would never reach it because it in itself is a heat source. Thats why noone has achieved absolute zero because its pretty much impossible to remove all heat no matter what we can do. We can get sOOOOOO close but actual zero is just too crazy. Just the probe being used to record absolute zero 50ft away could be enough heat to keep it from happening thats how cold absolute zero is.
