pretty sure you can, since you have an nvidia card

Also playing on Nightmare difficulty seems, fairly easy so far.

There is a difference between maxing every setting to the wall and being able to play the game.

The minimum requirements are a X1550 / 6600gt

From the screens I've seen, it's not exactly a cutting edge game graphically. I don't think you'll be sacrificing tons of eye candy by dialing it down a notch. Unless you plan on spending all your time in over-the-shoulder mode. In which case, the game has already been pointed out to be lacking top notch graphical quality at that level.

Fear not and play some RPG

The video card will probably affect your experience more. Even though you'll get the full game experience on the minimum required graphics cards, having a recommended or better video card will make a difference in the visual quality of the game. That said, it very much depends on what kind of gamer you are and how much attention you pay to graphics. I personally enjoyed the game just as much on my laptop playthrough using the lowest visual quality setting.

Yup graphics are only decent, not much options to "max out", except to crank up the AA. This game should run perfectly fine on a 4850/gtx260.

I know I won't be able to get to the higher settings on my 8800, but hopefully I'll be able to get to the graphical levels that the game doesn't look silly.

That would be 4850/9800GT or 4850/9800GTX/+ or 4850/250GTS

The 4850 and 260GTX are of different tiers...

I hope my 4870 does well on it...sounds like my secondary rig shouldn't be CPU limited (AMD 6000+ @ 3.0Ghz)

Here's a good link for benchmarks on requirements for the game

Dragon Age: Origins - Conclusion

You don't need highest-end hardware to play Dragon Age: Origins smoothly. With any graphics card better than a Geforce GTS 250 or Radeon HD 4870 the processor becomes the limiting factor. In matters of system memory you shouldn't be too tight fisted. Even if 2 GiByte are enough for Windows XP you should nevertheless use 4 GiByte for all operating systems since this reduces the necessary hard drive operations.

I think you should be fine. At least I hope so, I have the same series card. Otherwise it's off to the egg for a 4890 1gb that I was holding off on. Or a 5850 I can't afford.

Something along those lines.

K, im still wandering around the harrowing for my magi but so far, im very happy that I can still control myself in a 3rd person manner aka Max Payne style and not having to do that age old God like view from above.

Music is incredible so far and the voice action is top notch and i've already busted out laughing several times already and im only 10 minutes into the game.

The only issue I'm having so far is with the camera. The view options and controlling seems limited.

ROFL....I just had a funny as hell conversation with a guard in the magi tower

"Me: Wow, that's a big door!"

"Guard: Yes, it certainly is. Now, do you have a reason or question for being here beyond stating the obvious?"

LOL, I think im going to very much enjoy this journey
