Messed with the toolset for the first time tonight:

I like the darspawn sword and greatsword models but stat-wise they are garbage so after a bit of messing around I managed to make a custom enchantable version. Fortunately there are some good tutorials out there. Next up getting custom models and textures in game.

Anyone else have the dog in their party? Seems a classed character would be more useful.
The dog rips humanoids once you get overwhelm and mages in particular. Its aoe stun is good from the start. War paints are handy for changing resists like shales crystals. It's only late game that it stops being useful when it can't get any more specs and the rest of the party has uber items. I don't use it that often because it's so one dimensional but it is good at what it does.

Great game, but not for everyone. I bought this game for PC. I'm a RPG fan(played Final Fantasy's, Dragon Quest's, World of Warcraft, Fallout 3, etc.), and I was excited about this one, but once I bought it and started to play, I realized it's not my favorite type of RPG.

For me, it's too slow. It's got too much dialogue, and not enough fighting for my taste. I find myself getting bored of all the talking you have to do, back and forth. Let's just say, I expected more fighting and less talking.

For some, I think they like this style of RPG, but I don't think this game is for everyone. If you're into games like Dungeons & Dragons, or preferred playing on a role-playing server in World of Warcraft over PvP or PvE, I think you'll love this game. The story is deep and the decision making can be fun. But for me, it is too slow.

You can press esc to skip through the dialog if that's your sort of thing.

Although I wouldn't recommend it because the dialog is amazingly well done.

Compared to the best this really shines, whats the over under on EA releasing a sequal in a years time.

The only thing that dissapoints me is it just seems like its over to soon. I don't mean the story is when I say that (cuz you can strecth it out, I did to over 40 hours) just the game as a whole.

I mean, once you beat the game, there really is nothing left to do. Sure you can create a character to experience all the starter areas, but once you do that everything is the same. You'll be making the same choices at the same times.

Just sucks that once you beat it there is nothing else to do with that character. In Neverwinter Nights you could keep playing with your guy for ages ya know? Keep leveling and stuff.

I don't know, I love Mass Effect and this game is like that on steroids but in a fantasy setting. I however thought it was going to be more like Neverwinter Nights.

I tried making a new character after I beat it, played through the origin story and just got bored. in short the game is now dead and useless

Really sucks cuz the first time through it's simply grade A amazing.

Damn, I was hoping the patch did something with the textures.

Why don't you make different decisions the second play through?

There is ample opportunity for differing choices, it seems that you could play through very much differently. I am only 25% through because I'm going slow and don't have a lot of time to play, but I'm looking forward to a second play through with a magic user (currently Dalish Rogue)

Edit - I'm sure there will be a ton of DLC in the form of mods and additional quests for your character. Give the community time to crank some content out.

Excellent title, brings me back to days of Baldurs Gate. A shame you can't queue attacks though

Also, is there a mod/fix for the blood splatter on the armour yet? It looks like someone had a nose bleed and decided to dance around, not that they were in battle. A retexture or something to have larger blood splatter would be good. Anyone know of any?

Many thanks.
