Yeah. I quit after lothering on my second playthrough. Gonna give it some time

I just installed it and played for half an hour. Nothing more than killing rats and watching endless cutscenes, but it looks promising.

Pc, regular version.

I have two questions about this,

1)Is there a monthly fee to play?

2)Does it allow any offline(single player) playing at all?

Are you playing an opposite line?

I plan on finishing my Human Warrior "good guy" and going with a Mage "bad guy" my second go around. Should be a shorter and somewhat different experience. Plus I decided to stop doing the Mages collective quests with my warrior and save them for when I do the mage. I also will go with a different main party. Currently using Alistair, Wynne and Leliana while romancing Leliana. With my Mage I'll go with Morrigan, Shale and Zevran. Then I can romance Morrigan in that run. Will make it tougher too without 2 tank types. But then again, I can go Arcane Warrior with my PC and it should work out.

Then after some time off, I might go back do the Dwarf Warrior line to see it all from that angle.

I think if you plan it out from the get, you could make it quite a bit different on the second playthrough.

Ummm so I am about 3.5 hours into playing, and I am wondering if this is a game or a movie? I am all for great cgi cut scene's...but this is getting out of hand. I don't think I have fought more than 8-10 minutes at a time between cut scenes. I love the graphics, love the story, need a way to shorten the cut scenes and add some subtitles.

One last fun point, on my laptop I had it on the lowest settings graphically and it was stuttering like crazy. Checked and everything is good(I have played other mean games on it before, it has an 8600M GT in it)...until I check gpuz, noticed the clocks are stuck in 2d mode which is sad. So I ran the game graphics up to max settings and the clocks kicked up to max and it runs great and looks great

The first part of the game starts a little slow, and is rich in backstory, codexes and plot development.

After that stage the map opens up to your choice and you can begin questing at your leisure.

This

at first the amount of dialogue seems ridiculous but it loosens as the game goes on.

Also, should have mentioned...

The dialogues are very in depth. You can spend several minutes conversing deeper with people if you so choose. If you've gotten enough info out of them, you can always hit escape to bypass the dialogue and cutscenes.

Has anyone beaten Ser Cauthrien? At first I thought it was a scripted loss but read that it is possible to beat her. I really don't know how. I imagine maybe with 3 tanks and a healer. All I know is I don't think its possible with the characters I took in.

The fight is flat out ridiculous. She can almost literally kill anyone with light armor with 1 hit. I have my PC and Alistair wearing Juggernaut and Blood Dragon armor and they get wiped in 2 hits. Talk about unbalanced. Some non-magical brute of a chick can literally kill my whole party like they were nothing.

I think the Arl of Denerim palace is the first place I really disliked from a gameplay standpoint. I mean, I've been to all four corners of the map and fought every beast and monster so far spanning over 50 hours. Some have been tougher than others. But when I come to this stinkin' palace, every door guard is completely overpowered. I got into fights where if I was slightly outnumbered, I would lose. Lose to freakin' run of the mill guards! What?

The cherry on the top is Ser Cauthrien. No helm, a big sword and chainmail armor just obliterates my party. I understand when fighting a Dragon or Gollem... but not some captain of the guards woman. Ugh. I bet if you pitted Ser Cauthrien against Flemeth, one on one, Ser Cauthrien would win. No magic, no nothing... she would beat a Dragon with strength alone. Flat out silly.
