Dominator... Never used them, I use DDR2 in my sig. It's great for OC.
I think the best would be that you settle with the rest of your system. Then you'll know what Ram you can use.
Have you seen DDR3 dual channel kits running on a Core i7 Mobo? I was shocked to see that the latency was below 30.0. My DDR3 mobo was one of the first and my latency is around 49.1 which is lower than most DDR2 sets. The integrated memory controller on the Core i7 chips really help make DDR3 shine.

Getting Corsair dominators is kind of a show off point. Sometimes the ICs are better than their normal Corsair XMS ram, but sometimes not.
