Looks like I beat you to it - sure has been done before, anyone got link to other's efforts at the 280 top ount in the Tempest.
The fan spacing pre-drilled on the top of the Evo sucked - NZXT what's with that anyway ???
I chose to use the front holes as stock and re-drill the required rear fan holes for 15mm spacing that the rad required.
Cutting the plastic wasn't too bad - just mark out and keep lines as straight as possible.
My only mistake which I wish I had thought of first was not allowing for the different fan spacing when I cut the grill out.
Could have left 12mm - 13mm of the grill at the rear of the back fan - instead now I have a cut out there which looks odd from behind and I might end up covering that.
BUT having the space there does allow for the plastic top to slide forward to lift off as it is as stock - really though, how often is that top cover going to come off once build is complete.

Fateful - how is your top 280 rad mount going ?? all good I hope.

Can't imagine being able to fit push/pull set up within the case.
Motherboard comes to the bottom of my internal "push" fans, Then rad and "pull" fans sit on top (and protrude quite a way)
I think it adds a meanness to the case - like a supercharger sticking out the bonnet of a muscle car.

THEN inspiration hit me and motivation along with cash has got the Evo seeing some action again.
Today mounted a Coolgate 280 rad in the roof - those fan spacings up top - NZXT aarrrggh !!!
Anyway she looks a treat I reckon.
Tomorrow I've got the TA 120.2 to move into the floor.
S'pose I should take a pic or two for you before I click "SUBMIT"
Quick and Nasty Snaps - so appologies in advance for shoddy camermanship
I enjoyed doing the top rad mod - hope you guys do to - It is possible !!

Nicely done! I had no doubt it was possible, although I would have gone with a stealth 280 rad but hey it worked nicely and makes your Tempest look like it is ready to do battle with a tank! Now that's what I call "Crafted Gaming Armor" thumb.gif

I haven't ordered the parts for my WC loop yet as I am having some trouble finding universal chipset blocks for my motherboard as the Crosshair IV Formula has like no spacing between the NB and Mosfets so the loop is near impossible for a non-full board cooling solution.

Is this full board cover any good to you -
This Fullcover Block was developed for the following ASUS Motherboards: - ASUS Crosshair 4 Formula 890FX
I'm not sure about AMD gear - you have the 890X - this board-block says 890FX

Just recieved my Sentry 2 fan controller. And my 5 Enermax Cluster 120mm LED fans.
Installed them into my chassi and insantly heard some weird noise comming from the fans.
Unplugged one from the Sentry 2, and put it straight on the 12v Molex. The noise was gone.
Add http://www.enermaxusa.com/catalog/pr...roducts_id=141 to the "non suported" fans.......

I am in Australia - today The Koolroom delivered to me my Koolance 480 fan shroud for on top of my 800D.
Will finish off nicely the 480 Coolgate push/pull that lives in the 800D's roof.

Yes, at first I was wondering if it would sit too high and look odd, but I think the step ups in height help it seem in place.
Will mount the NZXT Sentry LXE on the small ledge between the front in/out ports (power button) and the rad/fan combo.
From the front you won't see the rad or fans at all, perfect.
Thanks for positive input - I'll update with pics and blabber on some more as the Evo build takes shape.......

For roof mount rads, (and floor mounted too) consideration should also be made to the rad's in & out ports.
Rad Makers are you taking notice of my rant here - no, oh well.
Wouldn't it make the filling of top mount rad or draining of bottom mount systems so much easier if there were in and out ports on both sides of the rad ?
Am I wrong in thinking that there should be 8 ports on a rad ??
2 on each side for reasons above (fill & drain) and 2 more on each end of it (for filling draining when mounting vertically)
Geez - if I keep thinking about it I might just get the stock cooler back out !!
Food for thought - more ports please on my rads !!!
Wouldn't you pay $10 or so extra for more in out port options ?? I know I would.

Oh - Radiator suggestions - I really like Coolgate Radiators !!!! (Own 2 x 280's, 1 x 480 & 1 x 360)
