When I get this motherboard, both my GPU's will block all the expansion slots so therefore I will have to run off of crappy onboard audio. sad-smiley-002.gif

Ouch, bad times. I don't have a standalone sound card, make do with a HDMI connection between GPU and monitor. Audiophiles will be revolted at that, but it does the job for me tongue.gif

If I were able to sell the new Motherboard I'll get back from RMA I could afford an external USB DAC/AMP + I7 2600K. My price range if I were successful in selling my Crosshair IV+960T and the new motherboard+A little extra cash would be around $350. I really want an I7 2600K but if I had to I could save some extra cash and go for an I5 2500K, however I would still have to ourchase an external DAC/AMP so wouldn't matter anyways. redface.gif

Definitely been thinking about it, It's come down to this:

Option 1:
Intel I7 2600K
16GB DDR3 2133Mhz (4x4GB)
Asus Xonar DGX PCI-1X Sound Card

Option 2:
Intel I7 3770K
8GB DDR3 2133Mhz(2x4GB)
Asus Xonar DGX PCI-1X Sound Card

Lol at the options, it comes down to having 16 GB of Ram or getting the latest processor and 8GB. I suppose I could always get more ram later if I really felt the need to spend money on useless things. tongue.gif

But no, setting that aside I don't want to get a CPU that is prone to drastically higher temperatures when overclocking but then again the latest CPU means that ti will last me longer. <----With that in mind probably will get a 3770K. xD

i'll go for option 2...i repeat' we are talking about upgrades here and that was the latest so far'.... thumb.gifthumb.gifthumb.gif
anywayz' speaking about upgrade, do you guys think if 140mm fan would fit in this area without this hdd cage?... any idea? i dont have extra 140mm fan so' i dont have exact measurements...the only 140mm fan i have is the stock fan i used and i dont have time to dismount just to fit on it...so im rely on your opinion guys...tnx'...tnx'.... biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif
140mm.jpg
i'm planning to replace this into 140mm fan to have better airflow to my gpu... biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

So the wheels of innovation and creativity have been turning for me again. biggrin.gif
The story:
I was uploading a 7GB HD rendered Minecraft map to a server which had already taken 24 hours to upload halfway when I come back from the Kitchen to find my system offline so I took the liberty to do some fresh overclocking and P95 stress testing so I had decided to turn off the fans temporarily to dust them(My Vcore was 1.32 so I figured it would be alright for a moment) My fourth core had stopped almost instantly so I decided to go back to the bios and reconfigure my Vcore when I leaned in with a flashlight to check for dust in the crevices of my computer and to my surprise I heard a hissing noise and I looked down and saw a pool of liquid on my GPU! I quickly leaned around the back and flicked the switch on the PSU and toweled the liquid and removed the GPU to further examine the residue and I traced the source to my Antec 620 Kuhler. After removal of the unit I found to my astonishment that the leak was emanating not from the connections as you would have thought, but rather from the pump housing itself! The system had been going through intense render sessions lately and my best guess is that the extreme heat ruptured the rubber gaskets in the housing, several time my system will all fans going full blast and ambient room at 20c my temps had risen to 60c on several occasions and I'm going out on a limb and saying that the Kuhler wasn't designed to take that much of a beating so it died. axesmiley.png
Short of the story is that if you have a Antec 620 Kuhler "Do not let your CPU hit 60c" otherwise you will kill your units rubber seals. The good news is that from what I can tell the liquid inside is non-conductive.
The Result:
Good news about this incident is that I took the liberty of finally readjusting my fan layouts and increasing the aesthetic appearance of the interior of my Tempest. I have concocted an amazing feat of cooling for my tempest and needless to say it literally blows my hair around like I'm going down the road with the windows down!
Behold the airflow kings masterpiece windtunnel effect!
450
700
Combining the power of two High performance fans even at 30% capacity my hair lightly blows around with this setup, This effect has been inspired with Radiator efficiency in mind! With the extreme pressure from the front combined with the intake on the rear and side panel I estimate I will be able to hit near ambient with my custom WC system. I have yet to order the components to finish my rig but when I get it all assembled, rest assured I will post more screens of the finished product.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask them. I am quite excited about this transition and this new wind has brought more respect for the versatility and durability of the NZXT Tempest EVO. I will not be getting rid of my case because if two years later I am still finding ways to enhance the Tempest who know what the future will have in store. This case has seen so much history, It has housed 5 different motherboards, 6 different CPUs, 8 Distinct GPUs and configurations, and has gone through countless modifications. Through it all this case has proven to be resilient, Sturdy, mod friendly, and best of all it has a near perfect balance of professionalism and attitude all of which are extremely difficult to be found in 99% of today's computer frames.

Your win tunnel is too freaking legit.

Besides that, I just reinstalled new fans to my NZXT Tempest 410 Elite case. One thing I hate about this case is that I have to take out the mobo in order to replace/ clean the top fans and sometimes the top fans bang against the metal of the case because they get too low or something. Recently I installed woodflooring and I bought these furniture pads at Home Depot so I decided to combine these two top 140mm fans into one big fan (kinda combine), by just sticking them together.

This is how they are in the case.

Flipped upside down.

pretty awesome there dude, Are they held together with those pads alone? or is there another trick up your sleeve here?
