Bit excited myself - I think all the metal work and case mods are complete - at least I hope so !!!

Just dropped all my Evo metal parts at local powder-coaters for a new finish.
Pick up next Friday 1st Feb.
Dulux Powder Coating,
Charcoal Metallic Pearl - same as this.....

Thought about going multi-colour but decided to keep all same colour.
I think it was 9 pieces (every metal panel) - have a guess how much ???? Au $$$

First of all sorry for the double post but I'm ever so slightly curious to know how much it cost you to get your case powder coated.

To answer your question first - It cost $50 (Australian Dollars)
That was for both side covers, roof and floor, rear panel. in/out shield and expansion slot panel, motherboard panel and both sides of the drive bay. 9 pieces in total.

The finish is excellent, high gloss smooth as butter.
I am really happy with the quality of the job. thumb.gif
It is really really really dark grey - virtually black - but not quite, just what I wanted.
The metallic fleck - well it is smaller than I thought it was going to be, but maybe this is better.
There are a LOT of flecks, but they are small so don't notice it unless about 30cm away, I was thinking I would notice it from further away because I imagined the flecks to be bigger.

Overall I'm really excited about how it turned out and can't wait for the final assembly.

And now for the pictures.....BUT 1st I will say the reflections made most of the photos useless, and what is here is difficult to really tell how good it actually looks. MY camera skills suck !!!

A few more pics Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

So it's been pretty quiet here recently right ???
Guess we've all been busy with life smile.gif

Thanks for feedback and support during the build - it's been appreciated for sure.

I can now say that this build of mine is coming to an end - happy ending I might add.
Everything put back together with a few changes......
Added a 120 rad into the loop at rear of case.
Changed the SSD for operating system to the Kingston Hyper X 3K 240Gb
Replacement fan controller screen from NZXT arrived - THANKS SO MUCH XNine for your help with this thumb.gif
the 2600K has a 4 Ghz Overclock atm and is stable under full load (100%) with 50 degrees on the temp reading.
The 570's at 100% are sitting at 40 degrees, so can't complain about the temps really.
My goal of hidden cables (where practicle) has been achieved I think, so I'm happy with that also.
Will take some better pics for you guys when I get off the coffee table to get some better angles.
But for now here's some to drool over drool.gif

Cheers for the feedback - appreciated smile.gif

As far as fan noise goes - I would say "very very" quiet.
The front 4 fans are Scythe AP15 GT's which I've set at 1500 rpm - smooth and quiet (evan at 1800rpm they run real quiet.
The top rad 140mm fans are silent by nature being 140mm and slower spinning - Bitfenix pushing at 1300 rpm & NZXT pulling @ 1000 rpm.
Rear rad fans - the Scythe slipstream slim is silent, the Corsair AF120 pushing @ 1500 rpm seems to be the loudest of the lot.
As all here would recommend, remove (cut out the fan grills) for improved fan/case accoustics.

speaking of noise (or lack of it) I am really surprised at the quietness of the 2 D5 pumps.
IT is the first time I have used them and can say that they are running silent (after bleeding properly) and am totally impressed !!

The Kingston 3K SSD had no issues with format and Win 7 install.
Quite zippy as I would expect from a 555 read 510 write drive (wish I could have got 2 of them to RAID 0 the OS /programme drive)

Here's some updated pics of my latest modded tempest.
pump top painted

Front radiator painted and installed

hard drives relocated due to the radiator taking all drive spaces

Raystorm retention bracket plate painted

Pump config before paint and 180 degree flip

Block in it's original state

Next:

1: order some white sleeved pci-e and sata power cables,

2:Get some extra long white sata cables.

3:Order and paint a 2X140mm rad. to replace to #2 top stealth 240mm

4: figure out my final lighting solution

5:cut the side panel and place a new larger window in.

6:figure out how to fabricate the defused light plexi plate for the power supply and possibly the mobo.
